Lil Mama Feels Like Alicia Keys and Jay Z Should Have Spoken up for Her Amid Backlash?

Lil Mama just feels like someone should have spoken up for her when she was getting so much backlash.

She says:

“I did Tyra Banks Show. I did this show and this show, ‘oh yeah, I just want to apologize, apologize,’ and then they still beating on you and the people that’s involved, don’t pretty much come to your rescue or say like, ‘you know what, I was young before. I made mistakes. I been through this and I been through that. That was petty. That was light. It’s over. Leave it alone.’

“I just feel like, as a community, a lot of people just need to drop the ego and speak up and stop saying stuff behind computer or saying stuff behind…not even behind, stop saying stuff before your computer like, ‘I understand,’ when you’re in a place of power and you can say something…and it doesn’t have to be circumstantial where you just addressing that person’s situation. You could be addressing it for your children in the future because bes believe, your children are going to make mistakes. And you’re going to see what it’s like if they’re not forgiven in the future.”

  1. They didn’t have to take up for her when she was rude and interrupted their performance. She’s lucky they didn’t escort her off the stage.

  2. She chose to crash their performance, yet she wants them to stick up for her. Do she realize she ruined the memory of their performance? Everytime we think about that performance we think about her.

  3. Now why would Jay Z or Alicia defend her when they barely defend themselves in the media? Lil Mama needs to stop.

  4. Nope. They shouldn’t have done a damn thing. Lil Mama was cocky and feeling herself and needed to be humbled. You don’t ruin someone’s performance and then expect them to take up for you.

  5. Now I like Lil Mama but this is stupid. When you’re in the wrong, you can’t expect people to save you from your own bad choices.

  6. I can’t believe she’s still upset about this. It’s time for her to let it go. She made a goofy choice and people clowned her for it. That’s life. But she definitely didn’t get as much hate as Chris does.

  7. I remember hearing around that time that she had a bet with a few people that she would go on stage with them. Idk it could have just been a rumor either way it was stupid. P.S. – Let’s be real, even if she hadn’t pulled that stunt her career would have still been what it is today because back in ’09 Nicki Minaj was blowing the f-ck up.
