TI has been getting slammed on social media for the accusations, but he wants everyone to know that he wasn’t the one who demanded the $40,000 appearance fee to attend the funeral.
He claims the family of the slain teen who was reportedly killed by gun violence had unknowingly been communicating with a fraud.
He writes the following on his Instagram account:
#LIES ain’t nobody contacted me for no such thing. Let alone me charge someone to attend a funeral. What people should do is be aware of who they’re contacting & not believe every Tom Dick & Hank who says they’re connected. BUT I’d appreciate it if y’all could quit wit da ?…. I been in dis game too long… Check my resume’ I’ve payed for funerals & sent kids to college… Charging 40k to attend a funeral ain’t even in my repertoire…. #KnockItOFF
The family has since apologized for the mixup.
What is their apology going to do to fix TI’s reputation after saying this?
Not a damn thing. And that’s what’s messed up about it. A lot of people still think this really happened. But why would TI even do something like this over a measly $40,000? Doesn’t add up. They should have known something was up.
And in that order. He is not falling for the banana in the tail pipe.

So they got this n-gga out here looking shady as f-ck and all they do is issue an apology that 95% of the blogs won’t even report on? Tip is a piece of sh-t most of the time but he doesn’t deserve this sh-t.
This is why you have to do your research before you call someone out. TI is a lot of things but I doubt he would ever do something like this. I didn’t believe it when I heard it. And I see I was right.
Social media is the devil at times I swear.
I’m sure the family didn’t mean to lie on TI. They really thought they were dealing with the real TI. In the future, people should really be careful who they communicate with on the internet. People aren’t always who they seem to be.
