Ameriie Explains Hiatus + What Keri Hilson Needs to Do to Save Music Career

When asked why she stepped back from the music scene, Ameriie says:

“You know what it is? Everything is about timing. I’m a big believer in timing. I still feel like I haven’t reached my peak yet. It was like just starting and then I don’t want to say…things went left. It’s all timing.

“Really what is was…was going to label to label. That’s part of it and one of the things for me is it always took so long. Like I’m so happy now you can actually just put out music. It’s a little different. It’s a lot easier but it’s also much more out there. Sometimes it’s hard to cut through. But for me, I would record an album and by the time we’re ready to put it out…it’s slow. I’m on to the next thing. Musically I’m on to the next thing.”

Ameriie also feels like Keri Hilson’s music career could be revived if she came back with some great music.

On the BeyHive’s wrath against Keri Hilson, Ameriie says:

“But see if Keri comes out with a record and everybody’s like, ‘oh I love this record’…see here’s the thing that’s really interesting about human nature. I feel like sometimes people think, ‘that hurt you because of this’…people just want to listen to music. They want to ride in the car with your music. You can do pretty much almost anything terrible way beyond saying something bad about somebody. If you can make people dance, make people move, they don’t really care about anything else.”

  1. This sounds great in theory but it’s not true. Keri turned a lot of people off because she was new and came for two singers who had already established themselves for no reason but to be petty. So it just seemed like she had a nasty attitude and not everyone wants to support people with personalities they aren’t fond of. And why did they bring up R Kelly? He can’t sell albums anymore either. We live in a stan culture now. If people don’t like you or you came for their fave, they will not support you period. It may seem childish but people can do what they want with their money. The best way to avoid the trouble is keeping it cute and not coming for anyone.

  2. I don’t even think the Beyhive ruined Keri. People stopped feeling her when she got real raunchy all of a sudden. It’s a risk artists taken when they decide to try something new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And now she’s proven she’s really ignorant too. Let’s not forget her Rachel Dolezal tweets. She’s just not likable imo.

  3. Why the f-ck are they bringing up Beyonce, the Hive and Keri in this interview though? I mean Charlamagne brought up Bey like 25 times. That’s disrespectful as f-ck to another artist.

  4. I watched this earlier and I have to say she’s really cool. I also love how she didn’t take the bait and shade Beyonce. You know that’s what they wanted.

  5. When you go after people who have done nothing to you out of jealousy, don’t be surprised if karma knocks you off your feet.
