Amber Rose Wants Respect

In a recent interview with the Daily Beast, Amber has some words for people who feel Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa are responsible for her career.

Amber says:

“The misconception—and I still hear this seven years later, to this day—is, ‘You’re only famous for Kanye.’ Initially, absolutely. In 2009, when they’re like, ‘Amber Rose—Kanye’s girlfriend,’ I was like, ‘OK, that’s pretty accurate. That’s what it is.’ But I didn’t ask to be famous, and I didn’t even talk or do interviews for two years, because I thought, ‘I don’t want this. I’m not famous.’ Over time, with going out in public, I realized it would never go away, so I didn’t have any choice but to progress. Everything I’ve done since then is my own doing, and I’ve worked my f*cking a*s off for everything I have. But Wendy Williams put Charlamagne on. Jay Z put Kanye on! But they don’t do that to men, and they always want to diminish my accomplishments and put them on someone else when I work really hard.”

  1. It’s hilarious how worked up Amber and Kim get when people question why they are famous. I remember the last time Amber brought this up she actually said Kim is on Beyonce’s level. I knew I was done with her after that.

  2. Amber is a lot like the Kardashians. She really doesn’t have a specific talent and she became famous by association. If she had a talent, people wold eventually forget she was with Kanye and Wiz. That’s just how it works.

  3. You have to earn respect. And people who get famous with no talent find out pretty quickly how hard it is to earn it.

  4. People like Amber, Kim, Karrueche, and whoever else gets famous by association need to understand people will never let them forget how they got on that will never change. Better to just accept it or ignore it instead of trying to fight it. It’s a battle that they will never win people will always remind them how they got on.

  5. Honestly this new wave of being famous for no reason wouldn’t be a thing if it wasn’t for social media. Just saying.
