Naturi is promoting the new season of “Power,” and when she stopped by VH1, she was once again asked about Lil Kim.
The actress portrayed Kim in “Notorious,” and the Queen Bee was not impressed.
In fact, Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace claims Kim’s real issue is Naturi’s complexion.
Rumor has it Lil Kim wanted to be portrayed by an actress with lighter skin and she felt Naturi was “too dark” to play her on the big screen.
During a recent interview with Marc Lamont Hill on “VH1 Live!,” Naturi questioned why a black female rapper wouldn’t want to support an up and coming black actress.
She says:
“All I know is I had the honor and pleasure of playing Lil Kim in the film ‘Notorious,’ I would love to have some kind of affinity but I guess…my thing is I was a first time actress in a film. This was the beginning of my career. I’m a little black girl from Jersey. Why would you not uplift and support that?”
She should really stop talking about this. Kim clearly has self hate issues and she’s not worth talking about. If she was a black man, she would have been boycotted a long time ago.
So true. Kim’s behavior is unacceptable and anti-black woman. Yet we’re giving her legend awards and pretending like she doesn’t have a problem with blackness.
I feel bad for Naturi because you can tell this is really bothering her. But she has to understand there’s nothing she can do to fix this. It’s time to move on. She’s on a hit show and continues to shine. Kim will eventually have to face her demons.
In a classy way she called Lil Kim out. Kim will keep paying her dust though.
