Ayesha Curry Talks Discontent with Riley Being a Star + Being Okay with Not Being Liked

In a recent interview, Ayesha opens up about how scary it’s been for Riley to become an internet sensation.

She tells Grub Street:

“It’s scary because we didn’t expect [Riley’s popularity] to happen, so that’s been a whole learning process in itself. We say no to a lot of requests. Riley goes to school, comes home, we play with her, and keep her out of the spotlight as much as we can. But at the end of the day, she’s our child, and we’re all about family.”

And when it comes to being famous in her own right, Ayesha isn’t sweating that there are people who just aren’t fans. She says:

“The sports world is so gruesome that I think I’ve experienced the worst criticism, the best, and whatever is in between. So I don’t feel any pressure to be anyone but myself. If people like it, great, but if they don’t, great.”

  1. I have no problem with Ayesha. I think people have had it out for her since she tweeted about preferring to dress conservatively. It’s been on since. LOL.
