Even After Endorsing Trump, Kanye West Still Doesn’t Get Booked for Inauguration Performance

Apparently Kanye West’s glowing post-election endorsement of Donald Trump didn’t get him booked a spot at the Inauguration.

Radar Online writes:

Though many may have suspected the President-elect’s high-profile pal Kanye West to be a part of the lineup, Trump’s longtime friend and the chair of his Presidential Inaugural Committee, Tom Barrack, announced that the team has not requested the rapper to perform.

“We haven’t asked him,” he told CNN’s Erin Burnett on OutFront. “He considers himself a friend of the President-elect, but it’s not the venue. The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it’s perfect, it’s going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy but we just haven’t asked him to perform. We move on with our agenda.”

    1. Don’t be surprised if Kanye does end up performing and they lied about him not being invited just so he wouldn’t get dragged. Not all the performers will be announced. Some will be surprise performers.

  1. I’m not surprised. At the end of the day, Kanye wants to be accepted by white people so bad but he will never be considered one of them. That’s why you don’t sell you own people out.

  2. This is what DL was talking about. All these black celebrities jumping on the Trump bandwagon don’t realize that he is only using them so he can pretend he’s not a racist. After their fake meetings and photo ops, he has no more use for them and moves on.

  3. I’m surprised PMK hasn’t managed to help her son in law squeeze in one of the many empty slots for performers. Anyway, it sounds like Trump and his team didn’t really want rappers there anyway. That’s what they mean by “more traditional” I’m assuming. But then again, they did ask 2 Chainz so maybe it’s Kanye’s bad habit of ranting and making everything about himself that the Donald wants to avoid.

  4. I don’t believe this for a minute. I’m sure Kanye knew his career with the black community would’ve be ended if he accepted, so he said he wouldn’t. If 2 Chainz got an invite, I’m sure Kanye did too.

  5. Keep in mind that some of the performers have not been announced in fear of backlash. Kanye could very well be one of them.

  6. Oh he’ll perform. He won’t miss an opportunity to continue his imaginary competition with the Carters. I think they are just lying so Kanye won’t be forced to back out by Black Twitter.
