Jhené Aiko is over Infamous ‘Groceries’ Lyric

Singer and Big Sean’s boo Jhené Aiko is on the cover of Galore Magazine this month. And she also has an interview in Galore, which touched on many topics.

One interesting thing expressed in the interview surrounded a song she is really known for; “Post to Be,” by Omarion which featured Jhené and Chris Brown. In the song, she sang, “But he gotta eat the booty like groceries.”

Well, if you can imagine, fans and others alike may bring up this lyric to Jhené more often than she would like.

During this interview, she was asked, “Do people still ask about whether or not you’ve finally found someone who can eat the booty like groceries or has that kind of died out by now?”

Jhené said the following:

Every now and then someone asks me that, but I’ve started to ignore it for the most part. I mean I get it, it was a standout line, people don’t mean any harm, but I’m a person who likes to move forward. Especially on social media. But it’s dying out, hopefully 2017 we’ll move on from this.

Unfortunately for Jhené, it seems fans aren’t moving on from this anytime soon.

  1. This is why you have to think about what content you’re willing to put out there. Once you put it out there, you can’t take it back.

  2. I think she said it for shock factor and didn’t think people would hold on to it for so long.

  3. She was already well known before this song, however, that line made her more famous across the board…. be grateful.

People are weird, I love that song, but if I saw her in the street I wouldn’t yell out at her….

    1. Agreed. The song really put her to the front. It also brought back Omarion’s career so she should be grateful and people are just weird anyway.
