‘Basketball Wives’ Recap: Tensions Escalate Between Evelyn and Jackie

Evelyn builds a bridge between Cristen and Saniy’yah.

Evelyn invits out Cristen and Saniy’yah for drinks and to recap the events from Saniy’yah’s get together . She also hopes the two ladies can continue to mend fences.

During their recap, Evelyn brings up that Jackie is fake and tells Saniy’yah that Jackie talks behind her back. Cristen chimed in, agreeing with Evelyn.

Jackie’s fallout with Bonnie-Jill becomes the topic on the conversation.

Evelyn tells the ladies, “At the end of the day, Jackie went after the weak link,” referring how Jackie went after Bonnie Jill. However, Saniy’yah isn’t for the talking behind Jackie’s back.

“I’m a little uncomfortable with all of the talking behind Jackie’s back. I just feel like I’m in a tough spot right now.” – Saniy’yah

Meanwhile, Evelyn is insistent that she’s worked very hard to change her persona, attitude and reputation.

“I would never in a million years f***ing go backwards, and really disappoint people that give a f*** about me for Jackie.” – Evelyn

Evelyn then says in her green scren interview that she’s worked very hard on her anger issues, and becoming a better person.

“Why am I going to mess it up popping off at Jackie. It isn’t worth it.” – Evelyn

Lastly, she invited the ladies to an event celebrating her upcoming Persona Magazine cover release featuring her and her daughter.

Hazel and Tami recap the party and Saniy’yah’s.

Tami and Hazel meet up for drinks and recap the event. Hazel had some words for Malaysia and Jackie in her green screen interview. She feels both brought too much drama.

Tami felt completely surprised about Malaysia causing issues. Tami explained to Hazel the source of the beef between herself and Brandi and how she feels Brandi got in Duffey’s ear. Hazel, of course is in full agreement with Tami and her feelings.

Tami has now decided she no longer wants to be around Malaysia anymore.

Hazel, meanwhile, did not appreciate Jackie antics at the bbq.

Reggie and Lyric clash.

Tami is spending time with Reggie and her daughter Lyric whose in town for an internship.

The IVF treatment becomes the topic of conversation. When Lyric tries to bring up an idea for Reggie to babysit small children so he can see if he’s really ready for fatherhood, he shuts it down immediately, and somewhat disrespectfully.

“I’m not doing that s***. – Reggie

This turns the conversation negatively between him and Lyric. Lyric then says, “This is why I’m trying not to get to know you.”

This causes an argument between Lyric and Reggie as both accuse the other of being standoffish to one another. Meanwhile, Tami sits in silence and grows frustrated. Once they stop arguing, Tami insists they get to hang out and finally get to know one another. They both agree and they being to chow down on ribs.

Saniy’yah reports back to Jackie, fueling Jackie’s anger.

Jackie is riding around and calls Saniy’yah in the car. She expressed uncertainty in her green screen interview that she isn’t sure of who to trust. She apologized to Saniy’yah and mentioned that she cannot remember the event.

“I got really out of control but I didn’t want anyone coming at me stupid like Bonnie-Jill jumping the gun and saying all that stupid stuff on behalf of Evelyn’s commandment.” – Evelyn

In her green screen interview, Jackie expresses concern about still being unsure who her real friends are.

Saniy’yah says that she was bothered with Evelyn bringing up Jackie calling her “a liability.” Jackie tells Saniy’yah that she doesn’t remember saying that about her in Palm Springs but she was drinking and could’ve said it.

Jackie then gets enraged when Saniy’yah gives her the play by play of her sit down with Cristen and Evelyn, repeating what Evelyn said about Jackie.

“That is so f***ed up. Like why would she say that I’m fake when she’s the one that’s fake? What the f*** is Evelyn doing sticking her nose in my business? She ain’t got nothing to do with me and Saniy’yah and she’s got nothing to do with me and Bonnie-Jill. It looks like Evelyn is back to her old Evelyn ways.” – Jackie

Jackie ends the conversation with Saniy’yah saying, “The next time I see Evelyn, it may not be good at all.”

Jackie recaps Saniy’yah’s event with Malaysia and Brandi.

Jackie goes out with Brandi and Malaysia to a fencing class. After the class is over, Jackie recaps the previous conversations she’s had since the Bonnie-Jill incident.

Jackie specifically tells the girls what Saniy’yah told her about her sit down with Evelyn and Cristen. Malaysia’s eyebrows raised when Jackie told her Evelyn felt that she went after Bonnie-Jill because she’s the weakest link in Jackie’s eyes.

“Wait a minute… Is Evelyn trying to sully my name… are you jealous of me?” – Jackie

Malaysia says, “I feel like the OG’s are deflecting their anger issues off on us.” Jackie feels that the OG’s are “trying to take it back to high school… I can’t sit at your table because I am friends with Brandi and Malaysia.”

Malaysia then says that Tami is just a “guard dog,” and Evelyn and Shaunie are “the brains of the operation.” When referring to what Shaunie said regarding substance, she replies to Jackie, “Don’t tear down another black woman.” Malaysia really feels like Shaunie is trying to tear her down and she shouldn’t because she’s a black woman.

In her green screen interview, Malaysia says the following:

“No substance? Malaysia Pargo embodies substance. I am a bible-thumping, entrepreneur, great mom, wonderful friend. Do I look in a few mirrors? I sure do, I think you should too. Then, while you’re at that, ask yourself, ‘Are you happy with what you’re looking back at?’”

Tami forces Lyric and Reggie to bond.

Tami takes Lyric and Reggie to a panic room, with the expectation that Lyric and Reggie with work together and communicate. At first, they seemed to struggled but eventually their communication improved and they were able to enjoy the event.

Evelyn is convinced to invite Jackie to the party.

The four women spend time at Tami’s house to not only recap what happened at Saniy’yah’s event, but they also talk about Evelyn’s upcoming magazine cover party. Evelyn still feels that Jackie needs to be called out about her “bulls***.”

Evelyn invites the women to the party. Evelyn did not want to invite Jackie after everything that has gone down thus far, but Tami and Shaunie convince her to do it. However, Evelyn has Shaunie call Jackie to invite her because Evelyn does not want to speak to her.

Tensions flare up between Evelyn and Jackie at the party.

On the night of Evelyn’s party, the ladies show up one by one. Things are off to a great start until Jackie shows up. In fact, Evelyn mentions that she’s guarded because of everything that has happened.

Jackie shows up by herself rather aggressively. Jackie says in her green screen interview, “I feel like I am walking into the lion’s den but they need to know that I am the lion!”

When Jackie arrives where the rest of the ladies are partying, things suddenly turn serious. No one is really cordial towards Jackie and Evelyn points out that Jackie has sneakers on.

“When Jackie shows up to your event in sneakers, she thinks something is about to pop off.” -Evelyn

Jackie first tells Bonnie-Jill that they will talk later, but Bonnie isn’t here for it.

“What makes you think I would talk to you after the last time we met? Nah, we’re good.” – Bonnie

Saniy’yah is the last one to arrive and Jackie jokes with the ladies, gauging where their attitudes are. She then sets her sights on Evelyn.

“I got a bone to pick with you Evelyn, personally.” -Jackie

Evelyn asks Jackie, “Why you f***ing attacked her?” This is when Jackie and Evelyn begin to argue, as Jackie denied she tried to fight Bonnie-Jill.

Bonnie jumps in and tells Jackie, “You won’t admit it. It makes me wonder about [Jackie’s] character.”

Saniy’yah jumps to Jackie’s side and tells Bonnie-Jill, “You’re bugging.”

The argument escalates between Jackie and Evelyn which ends with Evelyn calling for security.

“Now Ima get disrespectful towards you!’ -Jackie

Before Jackie leaves, she again calls Evelyn a, “Non motherf***in factor ass b****!”

Evelyn got the last word yelling, “You need to focus on your grandkids!”

Tami says, “She pissed everybody off so she better get ready for war.’

Jackie herself says she’s ready to go to war with Evelyn.
