Petition Calls For Sony to Drop R. Kelly + New Allegations Surface

The recent rounds of backlash R. Kelly is facing are resulting in critics of his behavior going after his record label.

One specific petition is asking Sony to back away from Kelly. The petition goes on to cite numerous s*xual misconduct allegations including the newest ones revealed by Buzzfeed.

The petition reads:

R&B singer R. Kelly has preyed on teenage girls for the past 25 years. It’s time our society stops his cycle of abuse. Join us in telling Sony to #DropRKelly for habitually preying on teenage girls for the past 25 years!

In 1994, R. Kelly illegally married 15-year-old Aaliyah, and in 2002, he was indicted on 14 counts of child pornography. He was acquitted six years later because neither the alleged victim nor her parents were willing to testify, but more than 40 others took the stand to confirm that the girl in the video was the 14-year-old girl.

Recently, disturbing reports have surfaced from parents and former entourage members who allege R. Kelly is holding multiple women in a sex cult in which he controls their every move, physically and emotionally punishes them if they break his rules, and films his sexual encounters with them to share with his friends.

Despite all of this information being on the public record, Kelly continues to tour, release albums, collaborate with artists like Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga, and be honored at events like BET’s Soul Train Awards. R. Kelly should not profit while he continues to victimize women.

Meanwhile, R. Kelly seemingly used his Instagram account to respond to the recent allegations with a photo of himself and the late Nelson Mandela. He posted the following:

In related news, more allegations are coming out.

One woman recently told Jezebel that one of the women who is living in one of the singer’s homes came in the picture when she was around 14 or 15 years old:

Singer R. Kelly claimed to have “raised” one of his teenage sexual conscripts since the age of “14 or 15,” according to a sometime member of his entourage who spoke to Jezebel about life inside the singer’s inner circle. The woman confirmed details published this week in a disturbing BuzzFeed story, telling Jezebel that Kelly has five or six women whom he subjects to constant physical, sexual, and psychological control, routinely recording sexual encounters and subjecting his partners to bizarre cult-like behavioral restrictions.

“They’re all above the age of consent,” the woman told us. Two of the women are 18 and 19, while others are in their early to mid-20s. Technically, she said, “they can leave. But it was like witnessing Stockholm Syndrome. All these girls are so nice and trusting and young.”

  1. He calls himself the Pied Piper which is heavily implied to be a story of a p3dophile. What more do you need? Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and there have been too many allegations concerning Robert Kelly.

  2. R Kelly has been a monster for years and that won’t change because there will still be fools to support him.

  3. Sony won’t drop him because the victims are primarily black women and we know how that goes. Black people as a whole don’t seem to care about black women being abused. Especially if a black man is the one doing it. And I said what I said.
