Black Ink Crew Chicago Recap: Charmaine and Cobra Come to Blows + Kat Returns

The windows are being repaired after Van broke into the shop.

JR, Charmaine and Phor discuss Van and Ryan’s beef. They all agree things are getting out of control.

“At the end of the day, this is all about Ryan and Van. Like everybody’s getting into they beef.” – Charmaine

“But you know what it is though Charmaine? Ryan’s trying to control sh*t, and Van wants to be a part of sh*t as a team effort.” – Phor

Ryan walks in and Phor tells him he and Van should talk out their issues. But Ryan isn’t hearing it. He feels he has the right to change the locks if he feels like it and he’s upset that Van assaulted JR in the shop because it could have happened in front of customers.

Phor sees things differently, and tells Ryan that ever action has a chain reaction. In his green screen interview, he says Ryan isn’t being a great boss and cause Van breaking into the shop by changing the locks.

Ryan then says Van is no longer allowed inside the shop.

Ryan changes the subject and tells the group he’s going to a tattoo convention. It will be in Philadelphia and he’s only allowing JR to go with him.

Charmaine alerts them about her upcoming birthday party, and she tells them Van won’t be there because he has to take his daughter to a basketball game.

Ashley and Don go to church.

After Ashley and Don realize that their relationship is in trouble, they head to church and schedule a sit-down with the pastor.

“I feel like there are some issues in our marriage. A lot has to do with anger.” – Ashley

Ashley tells the pastor that they both have anger issues but Don seems to be a lot worse than her. She feels like he gets angry first and she just reacts.

She says his behavior in the parking lot the other night is the last straw. Don agrees that he has a problem and he no longer wants to be angry.

The pastor suggests Don strengthens his relationship with Christ but Don says he doesn’t consider himself a Christian. Ashley is disturbed by this and says it’s the first time he’s ever told her this.

In a green screen interview, Don says he doesn’t go to church and he’s just not interested.

But when Ashley says it’s important to her for him to get closer to God, he says he will try.

Charmaine heads to the skating rink for her 70s themed birthday party. Danielle brings the drama.

Charmaine wants the group to leave the drama at home and just have a great time.

Danielle comes in and Charmaine tells her to just ignore Ryan so it won’t be any drama at her party.

Danielle doesn’t take her advice and immediately goes in on Ryan as soon she sees him.

“You certainly look like you’re having a lot of fun considering your shop is falling apart.” – Danielle

In her green screen interview, Danielle says she’s not the only one who doesn’t like how Ryan is running the shop. Flashbacks of Phor and Charmaine FaceTiming her about their frustrations with Ryan are then shown.

Danielle then tells Ryan that it takes a village to run the shop and half of his village doesn’t approve of how he’s doing things.

“You got me f*cked up.” – Ryan

Ryan gets heated and walks out of the skating rink.

Ryan, JR and Rachel head to Philadelphia for the tattoo convention.

He tells Rachel that he hasn’t spoken to Van and he’s really over all the problems he’s been having with running the shop. Rachel tells him to focus on the convention and worry about the shop when they return to Chicago.

Phor meets a possible relative.

Phor has a show and Don and Nikki come out to support him. When a pretty woman named Janelle approaches Phor for an autograph and then a tattoo appointment, Nikki gets annoyed. However, Janelle tells Phor that she’s his paternal cousin.

When she introduces herself to Nikki, Nikki says in a green screen interview that she thinks Janelle is lying.

But Phor says he doesn’t know anyone from his father’s side so it’s possible that he’s her blood cousin.

Nikki suggests Janelle does a DNA test and she agrees. Don gets Janelle’s phone number.

The convention is a success, Cobra makes her return.

At the convention, a lot of people tell Ryan they love his work and there’s a long line of people waiting to get some ink done. JR helps out with the tattooing.

Cobra walks up on them while they are working. Ryan is surprised to see her.

“Seeing Cobra got me a little scared for my life now.” – Ryan

Ryan asks Cobra if she has a problem with him, and she tells him that she just wanted to thank him for reaching out to her after her father passed away.

Ryan tells her things will get better with time and he understands how she feels because he lost his sister.

JR and Ryan invite Cobra to work with them at the convention. She agrees and gets straight to it.

Danielle makes her way back to the shop.

While Ryan and JR are away in Philly, Danielle goes back to the shop and says she’s taking her job back.

Alonitza tells Danielle she is the new receptionist and Van and Danielle gang up on her. They tell her she’s not 9Mag and she has no power.

Charmaine gets frustrated and tells Danielle that she is directing her anger at the wrong person.

Danielle tries to dismiss Alonitza but Alonitza doesn’t make it easy.

Danielle tells her to take the trash out on her way out. Alonitza gets angry and dumps out the trash on the shop floor on her way out, leaving Danielle to possibly have to clean it up.

Janelle comes by the shop.

Phor does her tattoo and she says she realized they were related after he posted a photo of his dad to his Instagram account. With his dad now being deceased, it’s important to him to learn more about his father’s family.

Don is worried because even though they have different fathers, Phor is his brother and he wants to always protect him.

Despite Don’s worries, Phor feels good about Janelle and thinks she may really be blood. He now has an opportunity to learn more about his father.

Ryan wants Cobra to come back to the shop.

Ryan feels like Cobra is already being more respectful to him than everyone in Chicago.

He gets fed up when he sees Danielle and Van hanging out in the shop on Instagram.

He tells Cobra they were fired and he’s going to check them when he returns to Chicago.

He also invites Cobra to return to the shop to work but she tells him she really has to think about it since she doesn’t know who she is on good terms with.

Ryan and Jr return to the shop with Cobra.

Charmaine is angry about the $250 ray ban Cobra stole for her and tells Cobra she owes her money.

Ryan gets heated when Danielle tells him she fired Alonitza.

Cobra tells Charmaine to run up and they are restrained. But when Charmaine makes fun of Cobra’s weight, Cobra removes her jacket and runs up on Charmaine and swings. They start fighting and it’s broken up quickly.

Danielle calls out Ryan for bringing back Cobra and Ryan calls Danielle out for returning to the shop with Van when they were fired.

Kat then walks in the shop, shocking everyone.

  1. Van and Danielle need to be slapped. I can’t stand either one of them. They know they would have been fired and even locked up if they did this stuff at another job.

  2. This show is so fake to me how do you fire someone and not only do they return and bust up your shop, but they come back and refuse to leave! then the other person you fire comes back talking about that’s her job and the other person who got hired needs to leave you come back from out of town both of them sitting in your shop and it’s like you have nothing to say about it? and then I see the next episode all of you guys went on a trip together! that show is so phony and unrealistic, Cease would have never let that happend. but dude who owns the shop is still fine as hell! Lol

    1. YES THAT’S WHAT I WAS SAYING LIKE RYAN AINT GOT NO CONTROL OVER THESE FOOLS. AS FAR AS CHANGING LOCKS I WOULDV’E BEEN 1 STEP AHEAD WITH A REINFORCED DOOR W/PEEPHOLE….CAN’T BREAK INTO THAT…AFTER ALL THAT ARGUING AND WHAT NOT THEY ARE COOL AGAIN VACATIONING TOGETHER #FAKE BUT IMMA STILL WATCH LOL

    2. This is a scripted “reality” show. They take some real life scenarios and beef them up to make things more dramatic. It’s just entertainment.
