Black Ink Crew Chicago Recap: Van Assaults Jenn’s Male Friend + Ryan Comes Clean About Kat

The gang talks about Lily’s drunkenness.

JR tells everyone he had a “super casual” date with Lily and she got jealous that he was talking to female clients at the customer appreciation party.

Ryan and Don joke that Lily got super emotional way too fast over seeing JR interact with other women.

They press him to confess that he slept with Lily and he doesn’t exactly deny it.

Don and Ashley come to an understanding.

Ashley and Don still aren’t on the best of terms since their falling out over Ashley’s surprise bachelor party. However, Don tries to make things right with Ashley by taking her out to eat.

Don says it’s hard to be married if they have issues and she continues to bring up things he did in the past. Ashley suggests they move forward and he agrees.

Don tells her that she can quit her job and fulfill her dreams of being a housewife.

Ashley is happy to hear this and she admits she didn’t think he would ever come around on the subject.

But when he tells Ashley he will start doing body piercings to make extra money, she gets mad because she doesn’t want him piercing any women.

After Don reminds her that him doing piercings on the side will provide a way for her to stay home, Ashley begins to hear him out.

Ashley reluctantly agrees to him piercing for extra money but she does warn him to keep it strictly professional when piercing women.

JR and Lily hash things out.

Lily is at home having drinks with her family and her family doesn’t seem thrilled to see him.

He tells her that he wants to talk, so Lily’s family gives them some privacy.

JR tells Lily that she’s been acting different since the party and keeps pushing him away.

She tells him she knows she overreacted at the party but he reminds her of her past.

“My past relationship was manipulating. whenever he betrayed me, he made it seem like I’m in the wrong. And when I wouldn’t listen, he got abusive in every f*cking way and I would never go back to that.” – Lily

JR says that he liked her since meeting her at the convention and he wants to show how her how she should be treated.

He asks if she wants to get to know him and she admits she does. They start kissing and decide to spend the rest of the night together hanging with Lily’s family.

Jenn and Van talk about marriage.

Jenn’s 30th birthday is coming up, and it’s a major birthday for her.

“Whatever you want bae, it’s yours.” – Van

Jenn tells Van that she’s ready for marriage considering they have been together for eight years.

“I want a ring like yesterday, day before yesterday.” – Jenn

The conversation starts getting uncomfortable and suggests they just get a puppy instead.

In a green screen interview, Jenn says it’s not cool how Van acts when marriage is brought up and he needs to step up.

“Van cracking jokes while I’m talking to him about marriage is very annoying. I have been supporting Van from day one. From going to jail. Support with Bre. All the way down to his little raggedy 3some. I have always been there to try to make Van happy. Why can’t he just try to do the same for me?” – Jenn

In a green screen interview, Van says he loves Jenn but he doesn’t want to change a good thing at this moment of his life. Nor does he want to feel “constricted.”

When Jenn asks for a time frame on them getting married, Van suggest they really look into getting a puppy, much to Jenn’s annoyance.

Danielle gets real about Ryan and Kat’s past.

Charmaine, Danielle and Cobra go to a lesbian bar.

Cobra came out as bisexual recently, so Danielle and Charmaine decide to accompany her to a lesbian bar. However, she keeps striking out when she approaches women.

They decide to get some drinks and discuss Kat and Ryan.

Danielle finally admits that Ryan and Katrina have a past and have been intimate before.

“This is something that’s not new, at all.” – Danielle

Danielle says Kat claims Ryan started pursuing her and she had to find out later that he was back together with Rachel. She also says Kat started having feelings for Ryan and moved to LA as a result.

Don goes to a piercing shop with Danielle and JR to do some shadowing.

Now that Don got the okay from Ashley to start piercing for extra cash, JR convinces him to shadow a piercing session to see how graphic it can be.

One woman gets her boob pierced, and Don says it didn’t look that intense.

The piercer then takes them to a back room where a woman is getting her back pierced in multiple places. The piercer leaves huge safety pins in her back and then hooks her up as she swings from the wall, hanging from her back. This freaks out Danielle and upsets her stomach.

Charmaine asks Ryan about Kat.

Charmaine asks Ryan if he thinks it’s strange that Kat dipped back to LA without telling anyone goodbye.

She brings up how odd that Kat doesn’t come around much and Charmaine flat out asks him if they were in the shower together.

“F*ck no, man. Like, as soon as we all got out of the jacuzzi, Kat came to the bathroom to talk to me. But I said, ‘Hey, motherf*ckers gon think you’re on some sh*t, man. And she walked out.” – Ryan

“So it was that quick?” – Charmaine

“I swear to God.” Ryan

“Ryan, come on. We all know that something between you and Katrina went down before the lake house.” – Charmaine

Ryan finally admits he had a “drunk run in” with Kat last year but they never slept together and it went down before he was back with Rachel.

He says Kat started catching feelings and he decided he wanted to reconcile with Rachel. In a green screen interview, Danielle says Ryan needs to be honest about his past with Kat because she doesn’t think Kat lied about anything she told her in LA.

Ryan then tells the gang that what he had with Kat was nothing and Kat has has a past with other people in the shop as well.

“Phor kissed her. Van kissed her.” – Ryan

“Hold on, hold on, it was one incident.” – Van

In a green screen interview, Van claims he never slept with Kat.

Charmaine brings her mother Glenda to the shop.

Glenda admits she got Charmaine a mental evaluation when she was younger and found out nothing was wrong with her. The group laughs and says she should get a second opinion.

Van and Jenn clash.

After Van tells Jenn they are out of hookah, she asks him to go the store and re-up but he says he’s too tired.

This leads to an argument as both complain about having long days.

Both start arguing, as Van feels like Jenn complains too much and doesn’t appreciate all that he does for her. He tells her he wants his space back and sometimes he just wants some time alone.

She tells them they have been together too long for him to want space and they should be discussing marriage.

“I do want to eventually marry you. I just don’t want to do it right now.” – Van

He tells Jenn he’s not ready for marriage and when she asks how long she’s supposed to wait, he tells her he’s not asking her to wait.

She gets upset and leaves.

Van explodes on Jenn’s “friend” Ben.

Lily and JR go to see Phor perform.

They know things went left at the customer appreciation party, but they are ready to be upfront about their relationship to the crew.

Danielle and Charmaine are already there drinking at the bar, and Van shows up and tells them that he had a fallout with Jenn.

Phor’s performance goes well and Lily says she’s glad the gang appears to be moving on from her behavior at the customer appreciation party because she’s enjoying their company.

Jenn later walks in with a man and doesn’t speak to Van. Charmaine refuses to shake the man’s hand and Van walks up on them to demand some answers.

Jenn tells Van that her date’s name is Ben and she says he is just a “friend.”

This does not sit well with Van. In a green screen interview, Jenn says Van has no right to be upset since he basically broke up with her anyway.

Regardless, Ben tries to explain to Van that he’s a friend of Jenn’s to no avail.

“‘I’m her friend.” – Ben

Van then pushes Ben and the scuffle is quickly broken up by security. However, Don is nearby and gets involved, which causes his brother Phor to also get involved, as Ashley looks on in horror.

  1. Oh he is definetly lying cuz we heard that convo they had at the lake and if you didnt sleep with someone why ask if ur mic is on so u can talk or be reminded that its on so u won’t say something u not suppose too. I also think Vans girlfriend was messy as hell to bring a dude to that party when she knows damn well how tempermental he is. Somebody could have really got hurt all cuz she wanna make him jealous. If you trying to move on and date other people then do that but don’t bring the guy around him and his friends and be shocked when he spazzes out. that’s how a lot of men have gotten killed in the past because of women like her.

  2. Men like Van are a trip. You been with a woman for eight years and the thought of marriage still scares you? How? LOL.

  3. I don’t think Ryan is lying. This stuff is scripted for tv. Kat done been with EVERY body and think everybody want her mouse face looking arse. Kat is the typical female u have to watch around your man, she has no respect for relationships or herself for that matter.
