After Her Biological Father Appears on LHHH, Keyshia Cole Gets Slammed for Saying She’s Biracial

Keyshia Cole revealed last year that she had found her biological father.

Turns out her biological father is Virgil Hunter, a black boxing trainer, and they confirmed such through a DNA test.

Interestingly enough, Keyshia thought her father was an Italian man because that’s what Frankie suspected for many years.

So when Keyshia expressed certain thoughts about performing on “Black Girls Rock” while appearing on BET’s now cancelled show, “106 & Park,” many were not happy with her.

To refresh your memory, after Bow Wow asked Keyshia how what “Black Girls Rock” means to her, she said:

“I’m biracial. But it’s okay. I’m black. I’m black. I’m black.

“No, I mean…at first I was kind of skeptical about being part of the Black Girls Rock organization, but then when I read on it, and I realized how strengthening it is for our black women and women in general, and how strengthening it is for us to come together, and understand no matter what, we rock.

“I just think it’s a beautiful organization and I’m so happy to be a part of it.”

After seeing her father on the small screen last night, it didn’t take long for some to start calling Keyshia out for her “Black Girls Rock” comments, especially since it turns out she’s not mixed with Italian:

  1. Well if that’s what Frankie told her, that’s what Frankie told her. The good thing is she eventually learned the truth.

  2. So she thought she was mixed, and since she thought her father was white, she was originally skeptical about Black Girls Rock. Smh.

  3. All biracial people dont identify as black, when is the last time anyone heard Mariah Carey call herself a black woman? I think it’s stupid to get mad, she went by what she was told and decided to embrace what she thought was both her heritages. Time to move and let her continue her growth, glad she didn’t feed into the nonsense

  4. Keyshia just got called out on her sh-t. She didn’t have to respond but she did because those tweets hurt her feelings. That’s why you have to be careful what the f-ck you put out here. People don’t forget sh-t.
