NFL Says Janet Jackson is Not Banned from Super Bowl Halftime Show

Folks have been dragging the NFL on social media now that it’s been confirmed that Justin Timberlake is performing the halftime show for the Super Bowl.

It’s been rumored for years Janet Jackson was banned after she and Justin Timberlake had that controversial moment on the stage, and many have taken to Twitter to make it clear that they think it’s unfair JT got an invite back and Janet hasn’t.

Now the league is telling TMZ that Janet is not banned:

If Justin Timberlake wants Janet Jackson in his halftime show, he can have Janet Jackson … because there is NO official ban barring her from performing at Super Bowl 52, TMZ Sports has learned.

After the nipplegate incident in 2004, Janet was seemingly blackballed by the NFL — she hasn’t worked with the league since.

Now, with JT getting the SB52 halftime show, it’s clearly water under the bridge when it comes to his relationship with the NFL. But what about Janet?

We reached out to the league and we’re told straight-up, “There’s no ban.”

So, does this mean Timberlake will bring Janet on as a special guest?

An NFL spokesperson tells us, “We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake.”

  1. Damage control. They aren’t going to invite Janet back and they know it. Especially when most of their fan base is racist anyway.

  2. I honestly don’t believe them. Especially when most of the owners are pro Trump. White privilege wins again tho.

  3. I have been boycotting the NFL and will continue to do so. The way they have handled the Kaepernick and protest situation has been a turn off for me.
