‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Kat Goes off on Ryan + Rachel Makes a Choice

Van calls the shots while Ryan is away.

Ryan hasn’t been at the shop for a while now as a result of the drama with Kat. So Van decides he will throw a barbecue at the shop to lift everyone’s spirits.

After having drama at Kat’s party, JR has a conversation with Lily.

Lily says she doesn’t understand how things got out of hand and JR tells her it was messed up for her to invite Plug to the party.

“You already knew about him though.” – Lily

“Yeah, I did. That sh*t happened behind my back.” – JR

In a green screen interview, Lily says she doesn’t understand why JR is upset because they aren’t dating.

Lily tells him she didn’t think Plug being there would upset him and he reminds her that she got worked up when another woman put her arm around his shoulder.

“Imagine if I walked in with a girl, how would you feel? So obviously, I wasn’t happy from the jump.” – JR

In a green screen interview, JR says it’s ridiculous that Lily can’t see his point of view and the fact that she doesn’t just shows she’s very immature. He’s done trying to convince her that she was out of line.

He wants to move on and just be strictly friends so there won’t be any more problems.

Van calls for Kat’s return to the shop.

Van catches up with JR, Phor and Don.

He tells them that before the fight broke out at Kat’s party, the energy was “lit.”

So he thinks Kat should be invited back to the shop.

In a green screen interview, Phor says he feels this is a very bad idea. He knows Ryan doesn’t want Kat back at the shop.

Phor tells Van that having Kat back wouldn’t sit well with Ryan, but Van doesn’t seem to care about that. In fact, Van says in a green screen interview that Ryan doesn’t care about what’s best for the shop. He also feels like Ryan only cares about himself, and he’s been the one to pick up the pieces while Ryan has been away. He also feels like Kat returning will be good for the shop financially.

“Just cause Ryan f*cked up, we gon turn our back on her? That’s crazy bro.” – Van

Charmaine and Danielle join the conversation.

Charmaine says that Kat should come back and Van suggests they vote.

Everyone raises their hand for Kat’s return, except Phor who seems like he’s conflicted.

In a green screen interview, JR says he wants Kat back and he doesn’t like the way Ryan has been running things at the shop.

“Yeah, I’ve been a little messy. But I always show up to work no matter what’s going on.” – JR

With the majority wanting Kat’s return, it’s settled that she’s going back to the shop.

“Why won’t everybody stop f*cking Kat?” – Van

The group laughs and Danielle admits they made out once.

Kat tries to get in touch with Ryan.

Kat calls Ryan and gets no answer. She leaves a voice mail and tells him to call her back because she wants to hash things out.

After the party, Kat realizes her support system is in Chicago and she’s not going back to LA. So she wants Ryan to know she’s coming back and he needs to be comfortable with that.

Ashley has a gender reveal party and a temper tantrum.

Ashley says she hopes the baby is a girl, because she wants to be able to have a princess to spoil. Don is ready to get it over with so he can know how to prepare for the baby’s arrival.

With kids being placed into focus, Phor asks Nikki if she would consider having a baby.

She quickly tells him she’s not interested.

“Why would we want a kid right now? I’m young. My body banging. I don’t want a baby. I don’t.” – Nikki

In a green screen interview, Nikki says that she’s not ready for children and they just moved in together.

Phor says Nikki’s reaction was disappointing but he plays it off and says he isn’t ready either.

After Don pops the balloons, blue confetti comes out, and it is revealed that they are having another boy.

While Don is happy about this, Ashley gets upset and storms off much to the shock of the party guests.

“What? Did Ashley just have a temper tantrum? I know you wanted a girl, but Don already has a girl. Let’s just pray that he don’t got no more girls, okay?” – Danielle

Don goes outside to console Ashley.

As she’s crying, she reveals in her green screen interview that she wanted a girl because having Don’s daughter around has made her want her own.

Don kisses her and tells that no one will be able to take away the fact that she had his two sons.

Ashley realizes that Don is right and she’s blessed. They tell the rest of the party to come outside because Don says he has a surprise.

It is revealed that he bought Ashley a new Mercedes SVU. She is excited because it’s what she’s been asking for.

“I got my boy! And I got my truck!” – Ashley

Charmaine has some problems filming her first movie.

When she walks in, she screams, “The star is here!” This doesn’t sit well with the director. They have to cut a scene because Charmaine interrupted it with her announcement.

They tell her she is going to be an extra and a “bar maid.”

Charmaine isn’t happy to learn she doesn’t have a major part in the movie.

When Charmaine is asked to get ready quickly, she tells the production staff that she needs about two hours to do her hair and makeup (she has her makeup artist and hair stylist with her which happens to be Nikki). The production staff tells her they need her to be ready in thirty minutes.

Charmaine expected to get her own trailer but has to share a small space with other extras.

At this point, Nikki is starting to wonder if the movie is going straight to DVD.

Charmaine struggles with her lines, much to the annoyance of the director and producer.

Kat, Lily, Cobra and Danielle grab a bite to eat.

Lily suggests they have some dinner without the men of the shop, so they go to a Korean Barbecue spot.

Kat tells the girls that she’s got Korean in her blood and tells them stories of interactions with her Korean grandmother.

Cobra tells the girls that she needed to go to Houston and have a reset after her fallout with Velvet.

Kat says that she understands because her drama with Ryan has been a lot for her to take. She says he’s too insecure to even come back to the shop.

Danielle says that it’s the perfect time for Kat to come back to 9Mag.

“You’re day one, you are 9Mag.” – Danielle

Kat doesn’t want to be there if Ryan wants nothing to do with her but Danielle says she has every right to be there.

“Think about it Katrina. We all want you back there and Ryan hasn’t been at the shop at all.” – Danielle

Kat says being there would be so uncomfortable so she’s not sure she’s up for it.

“This is a big a*s mess.” – Kat

Charmaine is sad about her time on set.

Neak comes out to grab a beer and asks what’s gotten her in a sour mood. She tells him that she didn’t do well filming her scene for the movie.

Neak tells her to relax because it was her first movie.

They cuddle and then Neak’s home boys arrive. Charmaine is annoyed that Neak didn’t tell her that he was having some friends stop by.

Ryan tries to make things right with Rachel.

They meet downtown and he tells her he booked them a horse and carriage like they used to do when they were younger. He and Rachel share a laugh and Ryan is thankful he could get a laugh out of her since she’s been so mad at him.

“Let’s do it.” – Rachel

He tells her that he wants to get past what happened with Kat and he wants for her to trust him again.

“I don’t know.” – Rachel

He tells her that he loves her and doesn’t want them to end their relationship.

“We’ll just have to take it day by day.” – Rachel

She tells him she’s willing to work things out but it won’t be easy.

Ryan is thankful that Rachel is giving him another chance.

Kat returns to the shop.

She says she has every right to be there because she helped build it from the ground up.

She gets hugs from everyone in Ryan’s absence.

Kat has a little small talk with the group and waits for her client Tyrone to get there.

Phor calls Ryan to check on him. Ryan says he hasn’t been in the shop because he still has a cast on his arm and he needs to spend more time with Rachel anyway.

Phor says he understands. He also tells Ryan that the rest of the group wants Kat back at the shop.

“She already been at the shop tattooing.” – Phor

“What is she doing there?!” – Ryan

Phor tells Ryan that he didn’t think it was a good idea but everyone else wanted her there.

Ryan says it’s on if he sees Kat there.

He takes a knife out and cuts off his cast.

Ryan makes his return to the shop, things get explosive.

While Kat and the group are reminiscing on the good old days, Ryan walks back in the shop and is cold towards everyone.

He doesn’t speak and Don says in a green screen interview that he feels that was a rude entrance.

Ryan then asks the group if Kat is working in the shop again.

“It’s simple. I’m here to work and get money like the rest of us.” – Kat

“It’s not home for you.” – Ryan

Kat says that 9Mag is the first shop she’s ever worked in, so it’s her home.

Ryan then says he doesn’t understand why she’s there since they aren’t on the same page.

Kat says that things blew up because they didn’t have the conversation they needed to have but Ryan feels like they have nothing to talk about.

“I don’t know what y’all thinking. I cleared my f*cking truth at home. That sh*t over and it ain’t got nothing to do with the future.” – Ryan

In a green screen interview, Kat says she’s irritated with Ryan because he told her he wanted to talk off camera and he can’t look at her without wanting to kiss and hug her.

Ryan and Kat continue to argue and he tells her what they had was “light” so he doesn’t know why she need to get it off her chest to Rachel.

In a green screen interview, Kat says Ryan told her he loved her and he can’t control his feelings for her.

At this point, things get really explosive and Kat puts him fully on blast.

“You’re a lame a*s, lying a*s, delusional a*s, p*ssy a*s, b*tch a*s n*gga!” – Kat

“Bro, you gotta answer for that s*t.” – Ryan

“Answer to what? You gotta answer to eating my p*ssy at the lake house. How bout that? How bout that? And everyday all summer. And if you want to talk about how I sucked your d*ck once, we can talk about that too!” – Kat

“Oh my God!” – Ryan

“Talk about how I kissed your d*ck once and you ate my p*ssy all summer!” – Kat

Ryan storms out the shop while the rest of the group looks stunned.

  1. I definitely believe everything Kat said because Ryan is a liar but at this point she needs to let it go everybody in the world know they messed around. Ryan looks really bad but Kat doesn’t look good in this situation either.

  2. Kat is lying cuz she is a miserable wh*re. She mad cuz she a throw away. The rest of the shop need to be fired. It’s Ryan’s shop and they got nerve. They like drama and thy all seem miserable and phony. I’m not watching this crap anymore.
