‘Tamar & Vince’ Recap: Tamar Needs Space + The Couple Argues Before Her DC Show

Vince is still not happy he can’t get away from Tamar’s friends.

Despite drama at dinner, Vince is at breakfast with EJ and James. Tamar joins them and says she was disappointed in him leaving. Despite this, Tamar is looking forward to hanging out with Vince and Maricela, her publicist, makes the trip with her son.

Vince Is excited to ride ATV’s, but Tamar is scared she will “hurt her face.” EJ should’ve been the one nervous about riding ATV’s because his weave got stuck in the ATV helmet. Eventually, everyone makes it out and Tamar and Vince ride together in a four-wheeler ride.

During their interview, they began to bicker once again over Tamar’s driving. When they get to a beach, Vince separates himself from Tamar and her friends. He really doesn’t want to hang out with Tamar and her friends, and Tamar notices this. Se tries to go talk to him but he just ignores her and heads back to the four-wheeler.

Tamar and Vince clash at dinner after she says she wants space.

It’s their last night at Cabo and Tamar hopes to wrap up the trip on a high note. However, things get even worse at dinner. During the dinner, Vince asks EJ and James if they are looking for love. EJ says he wants someone but James doesn’t. Things get interesting when Tamar brings up that she wants space. She referred to Vince as “velcro,” and said another shady comment. She compared the lack of space to a popular Waffle House breakfast.

“Scattered, smothered and covered.” – Tamar

Vince, hangs his head in frustration and curses under his breath. This shocks everyone, but not Tamar, who alluded that Vince lost respect for her.

The couple began to argue in front of everyone at the table over Tamar’s desire for their relationship to change. Vince defends himself, while Tamar’s friends just sip their drinks awkwardly.

Maricela tries to change the subject bringing up the upcoming DC shows. When she tells them the shows sold out in Tamar’s hometown, Tamar is thrilled. However, she questions why Vince didn’t tell her this. Vince says something shady.

“It can make someone’s head blow big.” – Vince

This angers Tamar and they begin to argue once again. Eventually, Vince heads away from the table again. Marcela tries to talk to him, but he just dismisses her. When Maricela returns to the table, she lets them know that Vince wants some time away from the group.

“We have a life, a career, and a family. I don’t want to be controlled. I want you to be my man more than anything.” – Tamar

Vince and Tamar recap their trip, yet the arguing continues.

When they get back home, Tamar needs to prepare for her upcoming sold-out DC concerts. She tries to recap their Mexico trip and their relationship.

“After 14 years, you get comfortable.” – Vince

Tamar says, “We cannot keep putting the business in front of the relationship.”

She is adamant that she doesn’t want her career to be before their marriage, however, Vince plans to remain focused on her career. Despite this, she says she wants to keep working on her marriage.

“I really want to work on my marriage.” – Tamar

Vince hangs out with Benzino and they recap the Mexico trip. He tells Benzino how Tamar brought her friends on the trip and brought up how she doesn’t want to be “velcro.”

Benzino is in Vince’s corner and tells he says, “that’s what she signed up for when she got married.”

The next day, Tamar confronts Vince over her album release date. She was adamant about not releasing on the same day as anyone else. They begin to argue when Vince claims that people change their release dates all of the time. Tamar goes on the defensive when Vince claims people tried to talk to her about it when she dismissed them.

In his green screen interview, he says she never exalts him when something good happens. Tamar, on the other hand, is done with Vince “not ever taking blame.”

“I’m at my breaking point. Things have to change soon.” – Tamar

Vince walks away at the end of their argument saying sarcastically, “You’re the innocent one.”

A talk with Maricela reveals Tamar is worried about her marriage ending.

Tamar meets with her publicist Maricela and says she’s worried about her personal life interfering with her record release. So she wants to get her personal life back on track. This includes reconciling with Tiny. She also feels the album release will remove a burden from her back.

She lastly tells Maricela that she wants to stop arguing with Vince, and would give up him managing her career. Marcela says that her other clients ended up separating their personal and professional lives.

Tamar is afraid that if nothing changes, “Someone will be filing papers.”

Later on, James stops by Tamar’s place while Vince hangs with Logan.” Tamar jokes with James that Vince is only going to eat a plant-based smoothie. James says that Tamar and Vince are not on the same page. He wanted to set up a dinner for the two of them but Tamar is glad he didn’t, telling James they are arguing constantly. James says they need to get intimate and Tamar explains that, “It will just confuse things.”

“That confuses things. After it’s all over… one person will still feel like, ‘You tried it. I’m still not here for it.’ And the other person could still feel like all the problems are solved.” – Tamar

Lastly, Tamar surmises, “If your relationship is not working, nothing else is going to work.”

Tamar really wants to separate her personal life and marriage from her career. She doesn’t know how to change things but she knows that something has to change.

It’s the day of her first DC show and Tamar is making her press run. During an interview with WPGC, Vince shows up and Tamar brings up his weight loss once again, saying that Logan calls Vince, “Skinny Daddy.”

When they get to the Howard Theatre, Vince is nowhere to be found for sound check, and things get frustrating.

Tamar loves to have Vince around for the soundcheck to make sure she sounds good. However, Vince is outside hyping up the fans waiting in line. Things get tense when Tamar is surprised to see a news crew ready to interview her, moments before the show. This frustrates Tamar because she needs to rest her voice. Tamar also wanted to call her dad Michael to link up.

She angrily calls Vince and demands to know why they didn’t know about the interview.

“So what the f*** do you want me to do, Mr. Manager?” – Tamar

She then hangs up with him after they argue about it. At the end of the episode, angry from the call, Vince ends up demanding the show’s executive producer shut off the cameras.

  1. I happen to agree with Tamar about ppl changing and growing in a marriage. It is understandable why she would feel smothered when they’re working together and in a relationship too. It isn’t healthy to be codependent on someone. Having independence in a marriage and time away from your spouse is important for your individuality. I felt so bad for Tamar bc I’ve experienced some of the things she’s gone through when you’re always the blame and your partner never feels he’s responsible for anything that goes wrong in your relationship. Smh ??‍♀️
