‘Atlanta’ Star Lakeith Stanfield Has an Emotional Moment

Actor Lakeith Stanfield has a popularity that’s growing off his performances in “Get Out” and on the hit FX show “Atlanta.”

He’s also a guy that’s proudly displays his blackness in public and on social media. Lakeith’s most recent display of his pro-blackness, however, may have surprised a few.

He posted to his Instagram page a short video clip of himself crying. While sobbing, Lakeith said, “You gotta stand up for something.”

His caption for the now-deleted video said the following:

Just thinking about Fred Hampton and my other fallen G’s too. They live thru us now.

Fred Hampton was an activist in the 1960’s and a leader for the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party. Fred Hampton was assassinated December 4th, 1969.
