‘Married to Medicine’ Recap: Quad & Greg Reach Breaking Point + Contessa Gets Shady

Eugene and Toya discuss his actions at Heavenly’s event.

“Yes, I used the N word last night.” – Eugene

He tells Toya that he was just fed up with the ladies always bickering, and Toya points out he could have used a better word in that moment.

“Then why not call us ignorant?” – Toya

Quad and Heavenly catch up and discuss the drama too.

Heavenly decided to storm out of the event and she tells Quad that she’s glad she just left.

“Honey, this is growth!” – Quad

Eugene says the ladies get so dramatic with their disagreements.

“We’re women and women are going to argue over petty stuff.” – Toya

Toya says that her clash with Quad was petty and Quad made it too personal way too fast.

Quad tells Heavenly that she thinks she and Toya will be alright.

“I don’t have time to be fussing with my friends and my husband.” – Quad

Simone celebrates with her oldest son Miles.

Simone and Cecil take their sons Miles and Michael out to eat to celebrate Miles’ high school graduation.

The waitress flirts with Miles a little as he confirms he is going to Howard University.

Cecil tells Miles that graduating from high school is just the beginning for him.

Simone and Cecil tell their kids that they are in a better place when it comes to their marriage.

“We made it.” – Simone

“By the skin of our teeth.” – Cecil

They are staying together.

Cecil then kisses Simone in their green screen interview and tells her he loves her.

Toya and Eugene have a big reason to celebrate.

Back at home, Toya has been on Eugene about his eating habits. She questions his choice in eating eggs that aren’t organic.

He says he has already began to shed some pounds.

“I think the diet is going pretty good. I’ve lost like 12 or 13.” – Eugene

Eugene tells Toya that he has officially paid off their taxes. It was big check to write but Toya is excited they are now debt free.

They drink some champagne.

Toya suggests they throw a “End of Black Party.” She wants the party to be affordable.

They decide to have an intimate moment.

“You know they say every 20 pounds you lose it makes your p*nis bigger.” – Toya

Contessa has her last day at the office.

A patient comes in due to constant headaches. Contessa tells her they will run some tests but she is leaving medicine to spend more time with her kids.

The patient tells Contessa she understands because she left teaching to be with her kids.

“Wow, you are exactly who I needed to talk to. Thank you so much.” – Contessa

In a green screen interview, she says that interaction with the patient has given her a sign that she is doing the right thing.

She happily gets in her car after she wraps up her last day.

Curtis reminds Jackie that she has to give him more of her attention.

They have a quick chat at home. Curtis has been back home for a week.

He lives downstairs still.

As Jackie gets on her laptop to start charting, Curtis asks her if he can have at least a few minutes of her time now that she just got back home.

He wants to go for a walk together and she agrees.

She doesn’t want to go back to the dark place she and Curtis were months ago.

They take a walk down the street in their neighborhood.

“Where do you say we go from here?” – Jackie

Curtis says he hopes to be more patient and more understanding.

And Jackie wants to be more open with her feelings.

“I slipped, let’s get it right.” – Curtis

“Some slip ups can never happen again.” – Jackie

Curtis then joins Jackie back in the green screen interviews. She welcomes him back with a smile.

Toya and Eugene have their “End of Black Party,” Contessa has a bone to pick.

In a green screen interview, Toya plans to go back to the budget just to keep them from making the same mistakes again financially.

But this party isn’t being restrained to the budget.

The guests start rolling in.

In a green screen interview, Simone says she is so proud of Eugene and Toya for paying off their tax bill.

However, Jackie throws shade in her green screen interview and says it’s “typical Toya” to now being throwing a party which required her to rent a venue.

When Heavenly arrives, it’s awkward between her and Eugene. She says it’s her first time seeing him since the incident. But she plans to be on her best behavior.

Contessa immediately says the party is the “dumbest sh*t” she has ever been to in her life. She says that people are supposed to pay off their debts, so a party to celebrate that doesn’t make sense.

She’s also still upset about what Eugene said and brought him a book on the history of the word.

“Although he apologized, I feel like it’s an attack on my people and my heritage.” – Contessa

Eugene attempts to make things right with Heavenly.

He apologizes for using the N word at her party.

“No problem, we’re good. And I apologize as well.” – Heavenly

In a green screen interview, Heavenly pats herself on the back for making peace with Eugene so easily.

Simone tells Toya that Contessa is still upset with Eugene for using the N word.

“I’ll be right back.” – Toya

As Toya gets up to confront Contessa, Simone tries to pull her back.

Contessa then walks up to join them seconds later, and Contessa tells Toya that Eugene can’t use the word and then everyone just forgets it happened.

“I was pissed.” – Contessa

Toya tells Contessa that she could have called her to talk about this instead of bringing a book to the party.

Contessa then explains that other races act up all the time but only blacks deal with the negative stereotypes.

Simone says that she actually agrees with Contessa’s feelings about the N word.

Toya says that she will talk to Eugene about the word and makes sure he never uses it around them again. The group is in agreement with this and the party gets calm, again.

Quad and Greg arrive late.

In a green screen interview, she says she’s late because she has to do everything in her marriage all the time. She feels she’s the only one keeping it together.

Greg has a conversation with Simone and Contessa. He tells them that they are still having problems in their marriage.

Jackie tells Quad that she wants to see her and Greg work out their differences.

Quad says she has supported Greg for years.

She feels like it’s now time for her to focus on herself.

Meanwhile, Greg says he’s willing to fight for his marriage.

“He has to fight with me.” – Quad

In a green screen interview, Jackie says sacrifices have to be made by Quad and Greg. She feels both need to put the work in.

Toya and Eugene take the stage to thank everyone for coming out. They share a kiss.

“I want to eat some shrimp.” – Eugene

“I thought you wanted to eat me.” – Toya

“You too. After the shrimp.” – Eugene

The group comes together and says encouraging words to one another. They vow to keep being there for each other through all the ups and downs.

Heavenly then asks if Quad has anything to say to the group. She says no.

“Nothing?” – Simone

In a green screen interview, Quad says her marriage woes are taking up all her attention.

In a green screen interview, Toya says that she wants to see Quad happy but it’s hard because she doesn’t let anyone in.

They all start dancing and enjoying themselves.

Quad and Eugene have reached their breaking point.

Later at home, Quad looks up some recipes. Greg comes in and she tells him that they need to talk about what happened at the last marital focus group.

She says that she didn’t like that he fell out on the ground and began to foam at the mouth.

He says he was angry at the moment.

Quad feels like there’s no excuse and lets him know they can’t talk if he continues to talk over her.

She tells him that she feels like she’s done a lot to try to make things work. These things include the marital focus group and counseling.

Quad says she feels it’s time for her to simplify some things.

She says she was there for him when it comes to his career and she wants him to do the same for her.

Quad says it seems like Greg only feels like a wife is supposed to be there for her husband and not have her own dreams.

In a green screen interview, he says Quad doesn’t give him what he needs.

He feels like everything he does is never enough.

Greg brings up how hard he has to work to provide and Quad feels like he’s not really hearing her.

In a green screen interview, Quad asks Greg if he wants to get a divorce.

“Because here’s the thing…you’re 50, right? And I’m 36. Why are we wasting time?” – Quad

But he tells her he doesn’t want to have this conversation on TV.

“Why’d you sign up for reality TV then?” – Quad

“For you! For you!” – Greg

Greg walks out of the green screen interview.

After the conversation goes nowhere, Quad tells the camera crew they can leave.

“It’s over. Turn that sh*t off. I’m not going to deal with this passive aggressiveness.” – Quad

  1. As I said on the other post, Quad doesn’t want to have a baby with Greg because she doesn’t love him. She never did. She always just tolerated him until now.

  2. Why is Contessa trying so hard? You can tell she was just trying to stir something up to make sure she gets to come back next season because her storyline has been boring.

    1. I agree. They have called each other worse. She trying to secure her spot.
Bringing the book to the party was tacky. I dont think she will be on long anyway

  3. Contessa showed out over Eugene using the n word but defended her nanny for saying much more. I can’t.

  4. Quad really makes the gold digger rumors seem true. And the producers were shady to do that flashback of her denying him kids seasons ago. This is nothing new for Quad. Now she may want to have kids at some point, but not with him…ever.

  5. I feel like Contessa made some good points actually. The N word is terrible and none of us should use it.

  6. Apparently Quad and Gregory had issues from day one and almost called the wedding off!! So this marriage was doomed from the start.

  7. I like Contessa she brings some calm to the show. Maybe she was offended being group up with those women. But she should have realize that it wasn’t necessarily directed to her.
