Andy Cohen Responds to Backlash

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have a bone to pick with Andy Cohen after he claimed during an interview with Jenny McCartney that Kim Zolciak was ganged up at the reunion last season.

Just to refresh your memory, this is what Andy said:

Atlanta this season, I had a really rough time for the last chunk of that when Kim was on cause it got very…I hate a five against one situation.

Yeah, I don’t like it cause it’s a gang up.

And the problem is that Kim is not…she…it’s less problematic when the person is good at kind of taking up for themselves. Kim was not having an easy time with her words. She was making it harder for herself. So the whole thing…it just…and in retrospect…no one was listening to me. And I really did not have control of the room. I wish that I had walked off from that reunion.

Well viewers have been taking him to task since on social media.

So when asked about his comments, he said the following on The Breakfast Club this morning:

I misspoke. I should not have said she was ganged up on. I was frustrated by the tenor of the reunion. And what I was most frustrated in was in myself. And that’s what I was trying to say.

Kim was not a victim in this…they were trying to hold her accountable. And she was piss poor about taking accountability about anything. The conversation was going around in a circle. And when I said I wanted to walk off, it was because I just didn’t have control of the room.

There are two other times that I wanted to walk off the reunion. One was season four in New York City when I wound up telling the women “shut the f up.” I screamed at all of them which was a bad look for me, screaming at a group of women and telling them to shut the f up. It was my worst look.

And then season two of Jersey when Teresa pushed me.

I regret not taking the bullhorn away from Kenya but I don’t necessarily feel like I should have walked off that one.

I was just saying I lost control of the room and it was not a gang up and what can I say? Give me the Donkey of the Day.

He also said that Kim frustrated him at the reunion because she kept lying:

And the other thing that was really frustrating was she kept saying, “I didn’t say that.” And I’m like, “yeah, you did.” We’re about to show the clip right now.

It was just really going absolutely nowhere for like two hours and it just loud and I was just over it that day.

When asked about Kim’s ignorant comments on racism, Andy said he feels like she did not express herself well.

As far as the upcoming season is concerned, there are rumors swirling around that Kenya Moore won’t be back. But when asked about season eleven and how everyone is getting along, Andy said the cast has been peacefully filming and even Kenya is in a good place with everyone. So it sounds like to us Kenya will be back.

Andy said he believes Kim won’t ever return to RHOA again and he stands by what he said to her in the bathroom.

I think Kim will never be back. And by the way, I stand by what I said to Kenya on camera that she had a very negative season. It was all negative and that’s why it was all negative at the reunion.

He also said the following about Phaedra ever returning:

You never know.

Another thing he mentioned is Porsha Williams will be on the upcoming season of “Love Connection” looking for a new boo.

  1. Yep! He don’t want those ratings to decline trying to hold kim down. Somebody must have sat him down and said get it together.

  2. You notice how he had to get on an urban radio station to clear the air, why say that on ur bravo blog or whatever.

  3. Andy is so predictable. He’s changing it up again because everyone got in his a-s. People better let Kim down by herself. It’s not like she’s doing anything for Bravo anyway. Her show is a flop.

  4. He get with the white audience and it’s “Kim was ganged up on” then he gets with the urban audience and it’s “Kim kept lying, Kim wouldn’t take accountability, etc..” bitch please, we see right through his coke head a-s.
