‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Don is Arrested + Tells Ashley They Need Time Apart

The gang discusses what went down at the party.

Of course they ask Lily what made her get violent with Charmaine. Lily says that Charmaine’s whole “day one” perspective really annoys her.

She figures beating up Charmaine will put her in her place.

Charmaine and Danielle then enter the shop.

“What is she doing here?” – Charmaine

Charmaine tells Lily she’s fired for assaulting her at the party. But Lily doesn’t think attacking Charmaine was that big of a deal.

“You fight and you get over it.” – Lily

After this is said, Charmaine gets upset and removes her sunglasses to reveal her black eye.

“Oh, well. It’ll heal, b*tch.” – Lily

Charmaine says that Lily will never get far in life handling things the way she does. And Van then urges them to hash things out so everyone can move forward.

In a green screen interview Charmaine questions why everyone doesn’t have her back on this.

“Lily needs to be fired.” – Charmaine

With the conversation getting nowhere, Van tells both women they need to grow up.

Don gets in some trouble.

While Phor is cooking at home, he gets a phone call and is informed that Don was arrested for a DUI and needs $5000 before 3pm.

“You can’t leave him in there. Call Van, call everybody.” – Nikki

Phor begins calling everyone to see if they can put their money together to bail out Don.

Charmaine drops by to help and isn’t happy when she sees Lily walk in. Phor tells them to stay focused and put a hold on their beef for now.

They get the money together and head out to get Don.

Junior goes off on Ryan.

Back at the new 9Mag, Junior comes by. He’s decided to take Ryan up on his offer to manage the new shop.

He sees that Ryan and the new staff are still in the process of painting. Ryan also shows him around and tells him he won’t get the full vision until everything is done. Ryan is three weeks behind schedule and this angers Junior.

Junior takes Ryan outside and says that he has tattoos to do and can’t wait around for the shop to open.

He explains he’s losing money by coming onboard and he just wants to manage the new shop. Junior doesn’t want to help build the shop from the ground up. So he storms off, leaving Ryan disappointed.

Phor checks Don.

After the gang bails Don out, he tells them his DUI wasn’t a big deal. Phor takes him to the side to talk, and Phor tells him that getting a DUI was dumb. He wants Don to look at this as a wake up call.

Terrence comes by to grab some of his things now that he’s not in a good place with Danielle.

But she decides to toss out and burn his things instead.

When he pulls up to the driveway, he gets upset when he sees what Danielle is doing. She tells him not to ever disrespect her again and storms away, leaving him to put the fire out.

Van sees Lily back in the shop and questions her actions. She says she’s not going anywhere, and Charmaine doesn’t get to talk to her how she wants to. So he suggests that she makes it a priority to talk things out with Charmaine.

Lily says she won’t hit Charmaine again because she cries and acts like a victim. Not too long after, one of her clients comes in to get a skull tattoo.

Ashley is worried about Don.

Ashley meets with Don to talk about his DUI. She questions how their children can be safe around him when he’s drinking and driving.

But Don feels this is an attack and he is defensive.

“I don’t need no help.”- Don

She tells him that she’s really worried and questions if he needs some kind of help.

Don feels the conversation is getting nowhere, so he just walks away.

Danielle and Terrence make up.

Terrence wants to surprise Danielle.

He convinces Charmaine to take Danielle to a restaurant so he can do something special for her.

While talking to Charmaine about being disappointed in Terrence, he walks in and starts talking on the stage.

He shows off old photos of them being in love as teens.

This makes Danielle emotional.

“I love you, Danielle. And I’m sorry I ever hurt you.” – Terrence

He proposes again. She tearfully accepts the second proposal and they hug.

The wedding is back on.

Charmaine is thrilled and gives Terrence a big hug.

Phor comes by the new 9Mag.

In a green screen interview, Phor says with all the drama at Loyal Ink, he’s open to see how thing are going for Ryan.

Ryan says it wasn’t easy to walk away from everyone but he feels he had to remove himself. Phor is beginning to understand why Ryan left.

He tells Ryan that things are so unorganized and at a standstill.

“Motherf*ckers don’t know where to go.” – Phor

Phor also tells Ryan about Lily assaulting Charmaine.

“It don’t even feel the same.” – Phor

Ryan then tells Phor that he can always come to the new 9Mag.

But Phor says he doesn’t want turn his back on the rest of the crew yet. But Ryan tells him the door is always open.

Don and Ashley see a family counselor.

In a green screen interview, Don says he realized they needed a mediator to talk things out.

Ashley says her main issue is Don has been unfaithful. Don says that it’s not like he’s begging her to take him back. He tells the counselor that he hates how Ashley always makes everything about herself. And Ashley feels like him constantly cheating on her has done a number on her emotionally.

She says he hasn’t made her feel beautiful enough because he keeps cheating.

Ashley says Don is used to her being stupid and a “step-stool.”

“And I feel stupid saying so many times because I should have been gone.” – Ashley

In a green screen interview, Don says he knows he’s done wrong and really hurt Ashley.

He says he’s been battling a lot of demons and issues.

Don says that he thinks it’s best that they spend some time apart to work on themselves.

Charmaine wants to be the boss.

Back at Loyal Ink, Lily shows off the new shirts she bought everyone with the shop’s name on them.

Phor says in a green screen interview that he’s going to stay at Loyal Ink because he doesn’t want to turn his back on the gang.

Charmaine comes in and says they have a lot of work to do because the shop hasn’t been making money.

She says she bought the LLC for the shop and she’s now managing member and boss.

She then tells Lily that she’s fired.

“Well I put in the work, so I ain’t going no f*cking where.” – Lily

Charmaine says that Lily is a threat to their brand.

Van, Don and Phor don’t like that Charmaine bought the LLC and wants to fire Lily.

But Charmaine tells them that it’s her way or they can all leave.

“Make me leave.” – Lily
