‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Cobra Exposes Reese + Don & Ashley Inch Closer to a Reconciliation

Neek returns.

Charmaine is at work at the radio station. She has Danielle in the studio with her.

It’s slow season for celebrity interviews.

They discuss Danielle’s upcoming wedding and Charmaine wants to plan her bachelorette party.

Danielle is trying to get back to normalcy after the Jamaica medial scare.

“Girl, that was scary.” – Danielle

Neek walks in and surprises Charmaine. They hug passionately. He spent 6 months in Cameroon for work.

Don and Ashley are out playing with the kids.

As he plays basketball with his oldest son, he recalls his days as a college basketball player. Ashley is happy that they have been getting along so well.

“I so enjoyed our friend date in Jamaica.” – Ashley

When Don places his hand on Ashley’s knee, she checks him. In a green screen interview, Don says he’s not going to give up on trying to get some from Ashley.

Reese has a questionable past.

Charmaine arrives to the shop and finds Cobra there. She finally has her own booth.

Cobra tells Charmaine they need to talk.

She tells Charmaine that Reese stole a tattoo from another artist. Apparently Reese saw the tattoo on the artist’s Instagram page, stole it and posted it to her page as her own work. The artist blasted her online for this.

“I have a big problem with people claiming work that ain’t theirs.” – Cobra

When Cobra explains that the artist Reese allegedly stole from is a big deal, Charmaine says that she understands this could tarnish the Loyal Ink brand.

At this point, Cobra wants to confront Reese about this.

On another day, Don and Cobra find Lily sleeping on the couch inside the shop.

She’s worried about the stricter immigration policies being enforced by Donald Trump.

With most of her family being Mexican immigrants, she knows she can get bad news at any moment. She’s also worried about her little sisters back in Mexico.

Lily wants to help the kids already being affected.

Don says they can do a donation day.

“Whatever you want to do, I’m down.” – Don

“I got your back too.” – Cobra

Charmaine wants to have kids.

Neek and Charmaine are back at home.

Charmaine is annoyed that Neek wants to work. She’s frisky and lays some rose petals on the bed for him.

He laughs when he sees her in the bed with toys, including paddles.

They discuss the fact that Charmaine proposed but now she wants to have a baby. Neek gets irritated.

“All the women I know want the ring then the baby.” – Neek

The couple discusses this and Charmaine feels she’s running out of time being in her late 20s. And she says she’s serious about this. But Neek says it’s not in the cards right now and it’s not up for discussion.

Lily has decided to raise money for ACLU.

There are already people lining up to support outside the shop.

While everyone is tattooing to raise money, Charmaine decides not to confront Reese yet. But it’s definitely on her mind.

She and Lily do an interview about the fundraiser with a local news station.

After they wrap up the interview, a Mexican client tells Lily he wants a tattoo of a cactus to symbolize the strength of their people. While talking, Lily says her godfather was deported and her uncle may be next.

Don surprises Ashley with an unexpected performance.

Jenn and Ashley go out with Ashley’s cousin.

They decide to go to a male strip club.

The dancers are turning Ashley on. She tells Jenn and her cousin that she and Don are peacefully coparenting. She’s not trying to sleep with him right now.

After some chit chat, the DJ introduces a dancer by the name of Inferno.

A dancer with a firefighter costume comes out and hits the pole.

It turns out to be Don.

In a green screen interview, Don says he used to dance while he was in college.

This tickles Ashley and he serenades her.

When he tries to hang from the pole, he falls off the stage, breaking it. Ashley is concerned and goes to the ground to check on him.

He jumps up and lets her know he’s okay.

They hug and laugh about it.

Don tells Ashley he loves her. She likes that he’s trying and says she may give him some “out of pity.” They leave the club.

Back at Loyal Ink, the fundraiser was a success. They raised $1500.

Reese, Van and Lily head to ACLU offices to hand over the money. They talk to a woman who works there about the state of the country.

Reese and Cobra have another blowup.

One of Cobra’s clients comes to the shop but Lily can’t get in touch with her.

Lily knows Cobra to be very responsible, but she feels she’s been acting weird since she returned from Texas.

Jenn comes by and says she brought Van some lunch.

She brought him some oysters.

It’s been over an hour, and Cobra still hasn’t arrived. So Reese steps up to do her tattoo.

Cobra finally arrives and says she had her wisdom teeth pulled. She’s swollen and feels sick to her stomach from the medication. Se gets angry when she finds out Reese is tattooing her client.

She confronts Reese and said the appointment should have been rescheduled.

They start arguing in front of the client. Cobra then brings up the fact that Reese stole someone else’s work. Reese admits she stole the picture and pretended it was her work.

Reese says she did this at the beginning of her career.

Lily tries to defend her but Cobra isn’t hearing it.

“Enjoy each other. Steal more work.” – Cobra

Cobra storms out of the shop.

After Cobra leaves, Reese explains to Lily that she used to steal pictures of other tattoo artists’ work and post them on social media like it was her own work.

She says it’s not who she is anymore and she doesn’t want to be judged by her past.

In a green screen interview, Lily says she’s upset that Reese didn’t tell her this from day one.

“I’ma get some air.” – Lily

Lily walks out the shop to get some air.
