Kitty’s mom passes away.

Ceaser shows up to the shop with a box of chicken wings. Now that he’s in a great place with Puma, he wants to poke fun at their chicken wing beef. To show that he’s over Puma dropping a chicken wing on the shop’s floor years ago, he jokingly does the same. Teddy, Cease, and Puma all break out laughing.

Young Bae’s mother is disappointed that she broke up with Rob. Now that Bae wants a divorce, Bae wants to go back to Korea. So she calls up a taxi to take her to the airport. When Bae takes Nikko to ride with her mother, her mother says she’d prefer to ride to the airport alone. Bae can tell her mother is really upset about things.

Tati comes to the shop to give Donna an update. She says she has been talking to Kitty all morning and Kitty’s mom passed away. The news saddens Donna. Tati says she’s heartbroken and she wants to do something for Kitty. Kitty’s dad isn’t doing well either. They decide to tell Cease and Teddy that Kitty’s mom passed away. Both men are shocked. Cease recalls seeing Kitty’s mom in good spirits a year ago. He says, “Cancer’s a b*tch.”

Cease upsets Donna and Tati.

Later on, the gang discusses Kitty’s mom’s funeral. Bae says she may not be able to go because she may not find anyone who can watch Nikko. Cease says that he won’t be able to go. He has to watch his daughter Cheyenne and he’s booked out “six months solid.” This upsets Donna and Tati. They feel like he should be there. But he says he already told Kitty his situation. Regardless, Donna and Tati still feel like this is foul.

Mike and Q go out to a gay bar. It’s Q’s first time going to a gay bar even though he’s gay. He grew up in Atlanta, and although the gay scene is strong there, it wasn’t when he was growing up. So he’s enjoying the New York scene. Mike is bis*xual, so he’s happy to help Q get used to his new life there.

Bae goes off.

Puma brings by a new hire. She is the new prospective events coordinator named London. He says she helped him a lot at his old shop. He wants her to start working there on that day. Bae isn’t here for this and says London being hired means she’s replacing Kitty. Puma says that is not his intention at all and Kitty is the brand ambassador.

This does not calm Bae down. In a green screen interview, Bae says Kitty does all the events at the shop. London says she also does therapy on the side and she can sense there are deeper issues going on with Bae. Bae brushes her off and calls Puma stupid before walking out.

Donna and Tati are in a much better place. The two women are actually friends and they take a road trip to attend the funeral of Kitty’s mother. They discuss being disappointed that Cease won’t be showing up. Especially since Kitty and Cease did date in the past.

Cease shows up for Kitty.

Cease changes his mind. He shows up the funeral and arrives by the end of it. As Kitty and her family walk outside to prepare for the burial, he hugs Kitty and speaks to her father. Kitty invites Cease to the private funeral reception at her cousin’s house. Donna and Tati tell Cease they are proud that he decided to come. But Cease understands that losing a parent is a hard thing to go through. So he just wanted to do the right thing.

At the reception, Kitty gets emotional and breaks down in tears. She tells Cease that she is going to miss her mother. She always thought her mom would be there for the big moments in her life, like getting married and having kids. As she cries, Cease holds her. In a green screen interview, Kitty says her mother’s lung cancer spread so fast.
