Jessie Woo is not here for Amara La Negra. And she may also not be here for Amara’s comments regarding the latest controversy surrounding Gina Rodriguez. She shared her thoughts with TMZ recently. And she doesn’t feel like Gina was wrong to say the N-word while rapping Lauryn Hill’s verse on “Ready or Not” by the Fugees. Amara said artists can’t keep using the word in lyrics and then get mad when nonblack fans say the word when they sing along. And as an Afro-Latina, she wonders if she can say it only because she’s dark-skinned. Check out the video below.

Jessie Woo’s timing of her recent tweets has some suspecting she was referring to Amara. She called out Mona Scott Young and also mentioned that she feels some people are only black when it’s convenient. Check out the screenshots below.

Amara is of Dominican descent. And Jessie is of Haitian descent.
