Draya has relocated to Ryan’s shop.

Ryan tells Don and Phor that Charmaine is mad at him about what he told the Chicago Tribune. He feels like she’s overreacting and he still sees her as family.

Not too long after, Draya walks by. Apparently, Draya reached out to Ryan to start working at 9Mag and she’s doing a “guest spot.” Ryan clarifies that Draya is just renting a booth there and her position is temporary.

Charmaine gets some good news.

Back at 2nd City Ink, Charmaine vents to Kitty about her blowup with Draya at the baby shower. Charmaine feels like it was wrong for Draya to confront her about the registration drama at the shower. She doesn’t feel that was the right time or place. At this point, Kitty and Charmaine have to get the shop in shape so they can pass their upcoming health inspection.

Plug and Fly Tatted come in with a gift for Charmaine after they missed her shower. Prince then walks in and says that he’s officially a free man. His time in jail was much shorter than he expected. He got credit for time served and a stint he did on house arrest. Charmaine is so happy to see him because it seemed like she was losing all of her artists. However, the shop will remain closed until they can pass the inspection.

The DNA test results are in.

Phor and Don go to meet Iyanah and her mother. The DNA test results came in the mail.

Iyana’s mother Nashuana is struggling to convince Iyanah to come into the restaurant to find out the results. She’s too nervous to do so. So Nashuana goes in without Iyanah, and brings her sister instead after a tense conversation with Don.

The results say that Phor is not the father. Phor hopes that there won’t be any bad blood even though Iyanah is not his daughter. So he insists that he tells Iyanah the news himself.

He goes outside to break the news to Iyanah, and he says that he can always be her mentor even though she’s not his daughter.

It’s time for Ryan to get some closure.

Ryan sees his therapist. He admits that he’s been working to keep himself busy from thinking about things too much. When the therapist asks if he’s happy, Ryan says he doesn’t know. He still wants his family under one roof. It’s been hard not to see his kids as much as he wants to.

The therapist tells Ryan that he has to learn how to balance things.

When it comes to his love life, he doesn’t really want to date other people. He wanted to work things out with Rachel and eventually marry her. But that’s not what Rachel wanted. She hasn’t healed from the things he’s done in the past. So the therapist feels like he has some unfinished business with Rachel he needs to handle so he can move on with someone else.

The health inspection goes well.

It’s the day of 2nd City Ink’s health inspection. If they fail, they can’t get their registration and they will have to close down the shop.

However, the inspector tells them that they have violations they have to fix but they still passed. So the shop will remain open and they can now get their registration. Of course, the 2nd City Ink gang is thankful for this.

Draya and Charmaine clash.

Ryan, Charmaine, Don, Phor, Draya, and the rest of 2nd City Ink attend the restaurant opening of a mutual friend named Rudy.

Ryan and Kitty catch up at the bar. At this point, Kitty says she feels as if Ryan is playing games with her and he still has feelings for Rachel. But he apologizes for having her feel this way and says he respects their relationship.

Draya is a bit uncomfortable about being in the same place with Charmaine and Ryan. But she has a conversation with Charmaine despite this. After Charmaine gives her an update on passing the health inspection, Draya admits she’s been guest spotting at 9Mag. And she’s not about to risk her career for Charmaine. So Charmaine needs to start acting like a “boss b*tch” if she wants to be one. Charmaine gets up and walks away.

Don apologizes to Charmaine.

Later on at the event, Ryan and Charmaine try to hash things out but they end up arguing. And things only get more intense when Phor and Don come over to tell Charmaine how they feel. Despite the rumor about Van, Phor was hurt that he couldn’t be there for Charmaine after her mom passed. He hates that they are not speaking.

Charmaine says the rumor made her feel so attacked by her “brothers.” She feels like they took the rumor and ran with it, especially Don.

Seeing how hurt Charmaine is, Don apologizes.

Charmaine then tells Don that Van said Don started the rumor and instigated the entire situation. Don says this isn’t true and he has to have a conversation with Van.

Van and Don argue over the rumor.

When Van arrives, Charmaine tells Van what was said. So he decides to walk over to Don, Phor, and Ryan to hash things out. Van says that he has no beef with any of them. But it does hurt that they have grown apart.

Van also says that Don threw him under the bus with the rumor about him and Charmaine. And he never told Don that anything happened. All he told Don was that he drank too much but that was it.

At this point, Don gets heated and starts screaming at Van. Don says he didn’t make up the rumor. Van says he didn’t make up the rumor. Before coldly walking away, Don says to just keep his name out of it.

Rachel and Ryan take baby steps.

Ryan tells Rachel about his therapy session. He wanted them to get back together and work things out. But he sees that’s not going to happen. So he’s ready to move on with someone else. Rachel then says she thinks she’s ready for what the both of them always wanted.

Two weeks later, Ryan and Rachel go on a vacation together with the kids. Rachel says it’s not the end of their relationship. While Ryan and Rachel don’t know what they are, they both love each other still.
