While stressed, Issa finally talks to Nate.

It’s 3:32 am on the day before Issa’s Block Party and she’s stressed. She drowns her sorrows with a microwaved quesadilla and dm’ing Nate. He responds and asks if she wants to talk on the phone. So, she calls.

He asks if he gets the VIP “hook-up” at the block party and Issa says yes. She then opens up to Nate about her strained friendship with Molly, telling him she doesn’t “f*** with” Molly anymore.

Molly vents to Andrew and Condola broke up with Lawrence.

Meanwhile, Molly’s stressing about what to wear at the block party and venting about Issa to Andrew later that morning. Andrew offers they don’t go but Molly feels like she has to.

As the block party begins, Issa’s doing all she can to keep everyone together. When Issa sees Condola, she makes a beeline to her and asks her why she hasn’t heard from her in the lead-up. Condola apologizes and says that she broke up with Lawrence.

Kelli has a new boo.

Meanwhile, Kelli’s hogging all the photo time at the red carpet with Derek and Tiffany. Derek’s stressed and randomly cusses at Issa’s patrons. Kelli also introduces them to her new boo thang Darnell. She met him while faking a British accent.

Later, Issa’s interviewed by a journalist who didn’t even have a YouTube channel to upload the footage.

Next, Issa runs into Molly and they exchange a cold hug and Ahmal lets Issa know that it’s supposed to rain, something Issa fears. However, the performers Issa booked are engaging the crowd. Ahmal also caught wind of Kelli’s accent and decides to troll her. Interestingly enough, Ahmal learns Darnell isn’t too bright.

Derek leaves Tiffany at the block party.

Next, Derek gets a call from the babysitter that his daughter won’t stop crying. He tells Tiffany and she decides to stay at the block party while he heads home. Meanwhile, Molly’s impressed with Issa’s block party and Andrew tells her that her relationship with Issa’s strained because of Issa’s hard work for the party.

Nate eventually shows up and greets Issa. It’s their first time seeing each other since last season. Issa’s worried about the white people showing up and Vince Staples, her new headliner, still hasn’t shown up. However, the crowd gets hype for Top Dawg Ent’s artist SiR. As he performs, Molly brings Issa a snack as a good gesture. But before they can talk, Issa gets pulled away because Vince Staples finally showed up.

As the show goes on into the evening, the crowd gets hype and bigger. Kelly and Molly join the crowd with their dates in the wobble. Issa even loosened up enough to jump in too. And for a brief moment, she has a good time with Molly. But she gets called up to the stage by the MC to introduce Vince Staples to finish off the night. The Block Party appears to be a success.

Issa and Molly argue.

After the performance, Molly learns Andrew, through Nate, put a word to Vince about performing. She learns Issa asked Nate to talk to Andrew. So Molly goes to confront her about going behind her back to talk to Andrew. Issa and Molly begin to argue about this and Tiffany tries to calm them down. But, she fails as they both throw each other’s flaws at one another.

Before things escalate between Issa and Molly further, someone shouts that someone has a gun and everyone at the block party scatters. When things calm down, Issa tells Nate he doesn’t have to stay behind with her.

The episode ends with Issa getting caught in the rain by herself.
