Kendra is ready to get back to her old self.

Jazmin comes over Kendra’s place. She is helping Kendra figure out what steps to take to lose weight. Kendra has been slim her whole life, so this has been hard for her. She was a size 6 most of her life, now she’s a size 16. So she doesn’t feel like herself.

Jazmin wants Kendra to eat healthier and tells her healthy small meals throughout the day are best. Kendra will also need a good fitness plan.

So Jazmin tosses out the foods she feels will get in Kendra’s way of losing weight.

Imani and Britten talk about racism.

Imani and Britten take their kids to an art gallery. When they get to a Black Lives Matter piece, Britten explains police brutality to the kids. Imani says that she’s been experiencing racism since she was 6 years old. One of her school classmates pushed her down on the ground and called her the N-word. So Imani beat her up but got in trouble at school.

So she went off on another kid’s mother after the woman’s child call Imani’s son the N-word.

Lia finds out more about what Shanique’s been saying.

Kendra and Lia get a bite to eat. They discuss Shanique and Lia feels like Shanique was trying to make her look bad by telling Kendra she shaded Kendra’s past outfit.

So Kendra wants Shanique and Lia to hash things out by going to her favorite winery. Lia agrees to this.

Jazmin encourages Shanique.

Shanique goes to Jazmin’s house to show her the presentation she’s going to deliver to her husband Robert to prove that her career switch makes sense.

Jazmin tells Shanique that she just has to put her foot down and let Robert know she’s making the career switch whether he agrees or not.

Phil and Imani don’t have a traditional marriage.

Imani’s maternal grandmother was half Chinese and her grandmother’s father was full Chinese. So Imani has been to China to meet her mom’s side of the family.

She tells her mother that her upcoming trip to New Orleans is going to be hard since Phil isn’t around to help out with her son. Her mother doesn’t understand their non-traditional marriage.

They eloped and didn’t tell her mother until like 3 or 4 years later.

Lia and Shanique make peace.

Shanique and Lia beat Kendra to her favorite winery. It’s awkward but the women attempt to speak to each other.

When Kendra finally arrives, she has on the outfit that caused all the drama between Shanique and Lia. Not too long after, Shanique and Lia hash things out. Shanique tells Lia she wants to move past this and Lia agrees. They even hug and agree to be careful about what they say about each other.

Britten and Imani discuss their marriages.

Britten, Contessa, and Imani head to New Orleans to speak at their alma mater Xavier.

When the women get to their rental house, they get settled in so they can go out to dinner. Imani shares that she got pregnant while she was in her second year at med school, but it didn’t work out with her son’s biological father.

So her son has known Phil since he was a baby. And he makes her feel safe because she knows he’ll always have her back. However, she’s not comfortable enough to tell Phil that she misses him. She doesn’t want him to have any guilt. So she dodges telling him how she feels. Britten doesn’t think it’s good that Imani and Phil haven’t seen each other in months. The marriage looks pretty doomed to her.

Britten talks about Mack. Her son still wants to sleep in their bed. So they don’t really have any intimacy in their marriage.

Mack and Robert talk about this as well. Robert says he’s been there and there was a time that he and Shanique lost their connection. So they had to kick the kids out of the bedroom.

Contessa warns Britten.

Meanwhile, Britten doesn’t see the issue with her son sleeping in their bed. She did the same with her mom until she was like 9 years old. But Contessa tells Britten that the difference is her mother wasn’t married. So she has stop this.
