“Braxton Family Values” star Towanda Braxton knows plenty about contentious divorces. She had one herself when she decided it was time to pull the plug on her marriage to Andre Carter. For many seasons of the show, she described Andre as a stay at home dad.

And Andre often said that he did a lot for the kids while Towanda would travel for work. At times, it seemed like this was one of the biggest factors behind the tension in their marriage.

Towanda accused Andre of not being in their children’s lives.

However, Towanda has said things have changed a lot since the divorce. And she has accused Andre of not being in their children’s lives now that the marriage is over. Towanda also claimed that it’s her beau Sean Hall who has stepped up and become another father to the children.

And she’s very appreciative of this.

Towanda has also claimed that she believes the children having such strong relationships with Sean may have also rubbed Andre the wrong way.

Recently, Towanda had more to say about her ex-husband.

In fact, she stated that she wasn’t honest about who Andre actually was while they were married because she wanted to protect him.

But now Towanda feels the need to be honest about the entire situation.

Towanda gives an update on her ex-husband.

While discussing it all, Towanda said, “Let me shed some light. A lot of things I didn’t disclose because I was protecting him as a black man. There are things I still never utter because of that same reason. However, this is a nearly a 60 year old man who was never willing to take responsibility. The stay at home dad was placed by me so no one would look at him with a side eye as a man. It wasn’t about me pursuing my career. If you think about it, it sounds crazy because my career was started way back in the day. This is a man who decided every time I started working, quit so I could take care of him (that’s a quote) or when the divorce was final said he can’t believe he has to start paying bills (that is also a quote).”

She added, “I just think it’s sad that he has made a choice to not be a father to two amazing human beings. Bumping into your dad at the mall has to be disheartening for my son. When he comes home, both me and Sean have to explain to him that he’s enough and loved. Not to mention, to build him up and encourage him. A man who calls his daughter names also doesn’t deserve to be celebrated.”
