‘Married to Medicine’ Star Mariah Huq Sets the Record Straight About Andy Cohen

Mariah made some serious accusations.

Married to Medicine” star and creator Mariah Huq has been a hot topic in the media as of late. Recently, she made some serious accusations about those in charge at Purveyors of Pop, the production company over the show. It was rumored Mariah sold the show. However, she denied this recently. And Mariah also claimed that she actually partnered with Purveyors of Pop. But things haven’t been going well behind the scenes.

In fact, Mariah says she’s been stripped of all her power. She hasn’t been involved in any of the spinoffs.

And when it comes to the drug accusations made by Quad Webb, she has an interesting perspective. Mariah feels the accusations were used to push her off the show. She also said that she isn’t treated as well as the nonblack creators at Bravo.

The most shocking accusation was Mariah alleging that the producers didn’t want her wearing her hijab while filming her green screen interview.

Mariah clears things up about Andy.

While her issues are mainly with Purveyors of Pop, Mariah did say that Bravo could step in and make things right. But they haven’t done this. And the network’s refusal to get involved has been perplexing. Meanwhile, the other cast members on the show don’t seem to be onboard with Mariah’s plight.

Dr. Heavenly Kimes said Mariah’s comments were truths mixed with lies. And Dr. Contessa Metcafe seemingly addressed it and said that people need to understand that there is more to the story. And it’s always more than what the viewers see.

Toya Bush-Harris also made Mariah feel unsupported with a recent comment she made on one of Mariah’s Instagram posts.

Since Mariah appears to be at odds with the production company and other women on the show, some have begun to question where she stands with Andy Cohen. At the last reunion, Mariah expressed frustration with Andy about how the Ramadan scene was edited. She claimed it had been edited to appear as if all she and her family did was discuss Quad. And she herself stopped her loved ones from discussing Quad. Well, Andy didn’t see it that way. This seemed to visibly upset Mariah.

When one of Mariah’s followers blamed Andy for Mariah’s issues behind the scenes, Mariah responded with, “Andy is not involved with MTM shenanigans. He is NOT a producer on MTM. He has always been very kind to me honestly.”

The problem I have with Mariah is she is deluded. Andy Cohen does not give a toss about Mariah. At BravoCon, Andy did not introduce Mariah on stage as the creator of the show, in fact Mariah was the last to be called on stage. Jackie was first, followed by Simon, Heavenly, Contessa & Toya. Mariah was scrambling for a seat in the second row.

Mariah has yet to share the interviews she did regarding her treatment on her ig account. She is busy on ig liking pictures of people that don’t give a toss about her on ig. She is always liking pictures of Nene & Porsha but they don’t like hers.

😂🤣I had to laugh because I think the exact same way. I think she’s throwing dust to the wind because where’s the lawsuits at🧐? Who tells someone they’re going to sue? When those papers arrive is when you’ll know about it. Mariah doesn’t seem too bright to me. Not that I liked her.

Y’all are always quick to call black people dumb when they are mistreated by white people in power. Very telling. Black people have been getting treated like trash in the television business forever. What happened to Mariah isn’t even unique. Nick just said Viacom stole his show. And a production company was just exposed for destroying evidence in a police brutality case. But of course, you decided to call a black woman dumb instead of addressing the actual issue at hand. If Mariah is so dumb, how was she able to create this show and cast it herself? Mind you the Atlanta show is the only one she did herself and the spinoffs keep flopping. So these white executives can’t even duplicate what this black woman did. It’s a long process to sue a production company and a television network. But you were trying to be funny, right?

I agree I will not be watching either it sicken me to see how these black women allow themselves to be used all for the almighty dollar, and Heavenly and Toya really need to support Mariah because had it not been her vision they would not have a platform to uplift other black women something non of them and I’m talking about the entire cast has not done and this goes for all these shows where they show us in a bad light I’m done with all of them and I hate to take good out of our mouth but I would go hungry before I sell my soul

So because people don’t like Mariah, they have a crab in a bucket mentality? What you just described is in fact the opposite, why would the rest of the girls mess up their money because the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER has been pushed out of her partnership deal.

I can see that most of you women don’t know anything about business or partnership deals, Mariah sold over 50% of the show which means production is the majority shareholder. She can get the 🥾 anytime being the minority owner.

I totally disagree with Jamaica941… our black people really need to come together during these times, racist America is trying to extinct our people but rob our culture. See the bigger picture it’s not personal nor business it’s our everyday lively hood our children lively hood. Let these words marinate your souls. The American dream was not created to help people of color, it is fixed to destroy us and turn us against each other. Black wealth should really be standing with there people. Pull it together folks stop being distracted and and easily manipulated. Also if your partner, family or friends are non black they should be working with us to make some change that. Shows love for you and black culture. ✌💯 we need progress!

Mariah is always threatening to sue whenever she’s not offered a contract. She should have sued in Season 3. Mariah should not be begging for a contract on a show she created. She needs to do a big interview with a big news s channel. It’s funny how the black community is supporting Nick Cannon while turning a blind eye to the way Mariah is treated by Bravo & Purveyors of Pop

          • Miss Morgan

            July 16, 2020 at 1:30 pm

Ain’t nobody turning a blind eye but people who aren’t wise enough to see this is bigger than Mariah. You need to do research on how this business works. It will take a lot of money and time for Nick and Mariah to successfully win a suit against major production companies and networks. That does not give you the right to get on here and degrade a black woman for being the victim of systemic racism. And Mariah deciding to do an interview with a black media outlet should be enough for you and applauded by you. Your comments are problematic. Check yourself.

I don’t think any of know what the real backstory is other than what Mariah is telling us. There is another side to this story somewhere and I would like to know the full particulars as to how she can create a show and then be cut out after feuding with the ladies on it. I think after the 2nd season no one liked her or was it the first. All I know is something is amiss and I’m not saying that Bravo had nothing to do with it, but what I am saying is there is more to this story and I would like to know. I am loyal to my people but not loyal to a fault. If you’re wrong about something black white red or green I’m pulling you to the carpet.

Scott you’re not loyal to your people at all. That’s why you’re sitting on here thinking there’s some good excuse as to why a black woman is being pushed off the franchise she created by a production company ran by white men. And if you’re a black man, I’m not surprised at all by your comment. It would be typical. None of the white creators at Bravo are treated this way. But yes, focus on Mariah and assume she deserves this.

            July 17, 2020 at 10:57 am

Y’all are really on here wanting to justify why Mariah is going through this when there’s a white male CEO that just defended his racism on Twitter and told people he can’t be fired from his own sh-t. Meanwhile, black people like Mariah and Nick are being kicked off the platforms they created. Let the slave mentality go. We aren’t on the plantation anymore. Have some courage and stop being wimps. It’s embarrassing.

            July 17, 2020 at 12:10 pm

It’s not funny that people are more empathetic to Nick. It’s the status quo. The black community is very Misogynistic. Whenever something happens to a black woman, usually excuses will be made by black men and black women as to why it happened and it will be said that she deserved it. It’s no different than black people rallying behind a black man being exposed to violence while defending the fact that a white woman pulled a gun on a black woman and her black daughter. And of course, there are black women who are totally okay with the double standards.

This is why you just stop watching the show. White creators aren’t treated this way but of course it’s black women on here okay with that. This is why the black community can’t make true progress. Black women especially prefer competing with each other. The show doesn’t even pay that well and they got a pay cut according to Heavenly but they stay defending the white men who run the show because hating Mariah is more important. Meanwhile the Jersey Shore cast stuck together to get raises. That would never happen with a black cast. Crabs indeed. Love your comment.

Mariah is not the sharpest tool in the box. Bravo & Purveyors of Pop are calling her bluff. Mariah is all talk no action. None of the main stream media picked up her interviews because she is too scared to share it on her IG account because she is a coward. Nick cannon is calling out Via con on Facebook.

        • Miss Morgan

          July 16, 2020 at 1:25 pm

You’re angry at the wrong entity. You should be on here calling out Purveyors of Pop and Bravo, but it’s the black woman you’re calling dumb. But that’s usually how it goes with our community. Y’all have more empathy for Nick but degrade Mariah because the truth is y’all don’t like black women despite probably being one yourselves. But most back women spend all their energy fighting for black men. You won’t call Nick dumb even though he’s in the same situation. Mariah did an interview with one of the largest black websites in the world and you’ve been on here degrading said site that is owned and operated by a black woman. On another post, you said it’s not big enough. So you want white publications to pick up the story because only then will it be valid? Yeah, no. And Bravo and Purveyors of Pop aren’t calling Mariah’s bluff, they’re calling YOUR bluff and they are calling bluff of the rest of the women on M2M. While y’all are dragging Mariah, ask yourself why Heavenly, Jackie, and the others are okay with the pay cut they just got despite ratings going up. If they were vigilant, they would be teaming up with Mariah to demand fair treatment and equal pay but they’re too thankful for the peanuts they get to do that. That’s called low self esteem. The viewers have even more power, but most of you won’t use it by refusing to watch this show and choose to support the racism the ENTIRE cast has been subjected to because you’re not vigilant enough to see this is bigger than Mariah. This is why I respect Buffie for leaving when she witnessed the racism firsthand. And I respect Tamar for having the courage to point out that BFV is more successful but the Kardashians make more money. Get it together.

            July 16, 2020 at 5:51 pm

Buffie did not leave, she was not offered a contract, she said so herself on ig. I have a lot of time for Mariah, I have always supported her but Mariah needs an interview with Oprah or Jada Pickett because her interview with the jasmine brand & all about tea was pointless, it was not picked up by bigger news organisations, it had viewings of less than 20k. Why is Mariah not posting the full interview on her IG, why is she such a coward, she is all talk no action. She is always threatening to sue when a contract is not forthcoming, she threatened to sue in Season 3 but she didn’t. Bravo & Purveyors of Pop will continue to disrespect her until she instructs an attention-seeking at attorney like Lisa Bloom to represent her. I have a huge respect for all about the tea and the jasmine brand. God is busy, he won’t help her neither will quoting scrap on IG.

Are you serious? You’re really calling Mariah a coward when she’s the only one from the cast who’s had the courage to call out the producers for years now? Heavenly, Jackie, Quad, Simone, Contessa, and Toya will all complain about how they are treated in private, but they kiss these producers a-ses in public but it’s Mariah who’s scary? You couldn’t have thought your comment all the way through. Mariah was fired because she’s the only one who has consistently called out the bullsh-t. She even called Andy and the producers out at the reunion last season for that Ramadan edit. You tried it.

Exactly nobody tells anybody when they are going to sue lol it defeats the purpose.. They can hide out from the process server and keep changing lawyers and registered agents. Mariah does have grandiose delusions, I mean she named a lakehouse that she doesn’t even own and it sold for pennies on the dollar.

        • Princess

          July 16, 2020 at 6:01 pm

I assumed Mariah owned the lake house because her husband just bought a boat to go with the lake house. Mariah bragged about wearing £1m dollars of jewelry to the reunion show, she also had the biggest room – I was more concerned about her getting equal pay as the other two Executive Producers. Why do the cast of RHOA not follow Mariah on IG, they all follow Quad, Toya & Heavenly. Something just ain’t right, is Bravo telling them not to hang out with Mariah. Mariah has stopped following all Toya & Simone.

She did the same thing Mariah did… Created a show for Bravo to air & Mariah don’t have no control & I don’t think it’s fair. July 16, 2020 at 5:46 pm

Bravo doesn’t like any black women on the network but y’all continue to support it like fools. Y’all are on here calling Mariah dumb but why did Jackie agree to return for the new season after Heavenly said they edited that episode to make it seem like she maliciously called Buffie infertile? Is that not idiotic to you? It’s not like she needs the money, right? I mean she was just on IG showing off her home renovations. So why is she still on a show that would defame her character like that? Why is Heavenly okay with portraying herself to be a buffoon when she’s an award winning dentist? She said so herself that she doesn’t like that they don’t show the other aspects of her life like her successful businesses and real estate investments. Is she not dumb for selling herself short for a check? Why is Toya not dumb for returning to a show where she’s berated for tax problems she had years ago? Why is Quad returning to the same show that exploited her divorce and mocked the abuse she endured? Is that not dumb? What about Simone? She’s paid to be portrayed as an angry and loud doctor with a drinking problem. Is she dumb for deciding to stay on the show? Contessa brags about living in Buckhead but was it smart for her to return to a show that exploits her marriage and portrays her as an insensitive black woman who can fist fight? If you ask me, Mariah isn’t the only one who isn’t all that smart. All of them have sold their souls for peanuts. Now that I’m hearing they got pay cuts, it makes it even more pathetic. They can’t even sell out right. And you people continue to support it so foolishly. I won’t be watching Bravo ever again. Between this trainwreck of a show and how awful the Black housewives have gotten, I’m good on it. But keep supporting Bravo if you want to. Those executives don’t care about black women but then again, a good bit of you don’t care about black women either. As long as you’re entertained, right?

Black people need to stop going to these white networks and production companies to bring the shows they created to life. The show business is very racist. Create your own production companies, create your own networks, and if you can’t do that, at least produce and stream your show on your own platform. Ownership matters. Wishing Mariah the best. I won’t be watching next season.

Thank you! The best said, Mariah is not a dummy, she produce a popular show for bravo which she should have done for herself, from what I understand, Bravo has raked in on what she put out, and then try to mock her by producing a Married to Medicine Dallas which was a flop, and now the have a Married to Medicine LA, which is barely keeping their head above water, because they can’t do it like Mariah, and then you have people that Mariah helped, like Heavenly and Jackie and some of the other’s that have treated her badly on the show, it would not surprise me if some of them helped get rid of her, I can now understand why a friend of mine once told me when it comes to business be careful of not only Caucasians but also keep a close eye on black people, because when you help them they will also come for you and cut your throat, how sad.

I totally agree a friend of mine always said that she did not care to much about dealing with not all of them but some, black people, I asked her why and she said when you try to help them like Mariah helped Jackie, Simone, Heavenly, and so on they will try to destroy you because of your success, I have came across some that were that way myself, when you are working on success and achieving it, you have to watch your back with everybody.

With the present climate going on regarding black lives and matter and the respect that the African American deserves. The rest of the cast should have Mariah’s back no matter what their issues were before. Don’t let them.take this Black women show that she created.

Even though I sympathize with Mariah the real problem is Viacom. My problem started when they brought BET. This is a station designed for us but there is no value content there. These channels could address the issues in our communities but only show repeat of the Cosby Show and old black movies. These channels can address all the missing black women that never get address on mainstream media. We HBCU’S that can be highlighted. Finance and investing show can be created. There is seldom anythjng of value on these so called black entertainment channels.

💯💯 yess i hate how everyone glorifies how BET is “ for the culture” and all BLACK but it’s still owned by the white man. Also Bravo is owned by NBCUNIVERSAL not ViacomCbs

I agree with Robin Andy needs to be fired. He does not like Mariah if he does what a way to show it. If Mariah is not on the show it will soon melt away, I would like to know why did the cast take pay cuts sounds fishy.

Mariah & Nick brought ALL of this on themselves,They KNEW EXACTLY what they were doing when they got into this business. It’s real funny how you say “THEY’RE NOT DUMB” yet they were DUMB ENOUGH to sign these contracts, & get in this deal with the same people who they claim doesn’t care about black people. They were dumb enough NOT to read the fine print, & THOUGHT they were gonna come out on top. They aren’t the victims, they seen money, & in attempt to make money moves, they DIDN’T THINK ENOUGH OF THEMSELVES, to ensure they would come out on top, they were offered crumbs from the beginning;yet somehow when they DON’T GET WHAT THEY WANT, they wanna whine, moan, & scream woe is me, I’m being treated UNFAIRLY, Blah, blah, blah.. They sold their souls for bread crumbs, NOW THEY WANNA CRY HUNGRY. They got paid alright, paid dust. Us as black folks NEED to stop SETTLING FOR CRUMBS WHEN WE KNOW WE’RE WORTH AN ENTIRE ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET & THEN SOME. I DON’T FEEL SORRY FOR THEM,they weren’t treated UNFAIRLY, They were suckers, so they got licked.

Stop with the FAKE OUTRAGE, when they wouldn’t give a rusty nickel about you if it were you. Hey made a deal, so now it’s time to collect. JayZ & Bey KNOW THE DEAL & THE GAME YOU DON’T SEE THEM BEING THIS WRECKLESS & DUMB WITH THEIR OPPORTUNITIES & MONEY. Mariah & Nick TEAR DOWN THEIR OWN for some coin, fame & attention. So CUT IT WITH THE BLACKS BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY MONOLOGUE. IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE GAME or have the means, intelligence,& courage to win DON’T SIT AT THE TABLE & PLAY. Period.
