On tonight’s “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” Martell has some serious concerns. They stem from the family’s finances and he confronts Melody about not giving their construction business enough attention. Their money is getting stretched and Melody is taking on more responsibilities.

Unfortunately for Martell, Melody isn’t willing to slow down.

Next, Destiny meets with Marsau about possibly constructing her salon suites. LaTisha’s around and this rubs Destiny the wrong way. So, when LaTisha and Destiny meet up at Destiny’s soft opening for her beauty supply store, the shade flies. Marsau also learns Destiny is also looking for a construction bid from the Holts.

Meanwhile, while Marsau and Martell aren’t ready to squash their beef, LaTisha and Melody were seemingly able to come to an understanding. However, Melody gives Destiny a warning about LaTisha and her “energy.”

Lastly, Marsau doesn’t appreciate LaTisha apologizing for Wanda calling Kimmi and getting involved with LaTisha’s and Melody’s beef.

Here’s the recap for, “Soft Open, Hard Shade.”

Maurice is usually agreeable and likable but how he disrespects Monster’s mother in the molding of Monster is awful. Kimmie rightfully gave him the death stare when he made up that name for her backing Kiuwha. It is clear that Kimmie has the adult mindset to deal with how to raise a child in a dual household.
Does he really think Kiuwha is gonna just not have shared custody?
How can LaTisha sit there and tell Marsau (who is not guilty) that it’s doesn’t matter that her mother disrespects him like he is supposed to sit there and take it?! She has two adults in her life that don’t respect her – Marsau and Wanda but want to dictate when and if she speaks up. Gurl, sit down. And LaTisha’s insecurities are so bad from the meeting with Destiny about the build out to the soft-launch. Her mouth is reckless just like her mama Wanda!

Destiny! I know this is TV but how do you have such an aggressive timeline without understanding the city permits constraints to do a buildout?

At the meeting with Marsua and Destiny Latisha was doing the same thing little kids do when adults get on the phone (they keep interrupting to get attention). Every episode thus far Latisha is acting out to get attention because she is so insecure. That bad girl biker look is not a good look for her and the dark lipstick is not for her either. She claims that she wants to move forward but at Destiny’s party since she had an audience she had to bring up being escorted out of Melody’s event. Girl grow up. Then she runs to tell Marsau about every conversation she has and he tells her what to say and how to handle it. She said that she is secure in her marriage but we all I see is she is very insecure in her marriage and Marsau knows it so he uses it to manipulate her and she does not see it. Wanda still treats her like she is at school on the playground and she had to go protect her from the bullies. LaTisha is not as sweet and blameless as she would have people to believe. LaTisha have a seat until you can put your big women panties on.

LaTisha doesn’t have enough to do…and she is too busy worried about Melody. The only reason she was in that meeting was to see if Destiny was going to say something about Melody. She is obsessed with Melody and needs to get a grip! Wanda…needs to go away…she isn’t a Holt or a Scott…so she needs a couple of seats…her daughter is a Scott and should be able to handle her own…But we see this an Epic fail. Kimmie…always a class act…but eventually she is going to have to pick a side…of course it would be the Scott’s…no one should be offended if they are mature. Maurice…it would be best to let Monster spend time with his mother…for the whole summer…and rotate other holidays….it would make for a good marriage. Melody…she too can grow up a bit and quit acting like what everyone else does is minimal compared to her gigs…she is looking down her nose at folks…best careful…can be up on May and down on June…but I don’t blame Melody for telling Martell to step up more…if he can step out and make time for an affair…he can step up more and take care of those kids. But I hope Melody doesn’t make the wrong choice between her new opportunities and her bread and butter (Holt and Holt Custom Homes). Marsau…hmmm…he is going to have draw the line with both Wanda and LaTisha…he is going to have to keep LaTisha busy and out of his way…she is going to be his Achilles Heel. Destiney and LeBerrick…annoying as Eff…they’re like a fly buzzing around that doesn’t belong…they may be the couple that slides in Marsau and Tisha’s spot if the feud keeps on. Funny how Melody’s frien Destiny is also having marriage problems…misery love company…. ahem…cough…cough…Melody.

Maurice could use some parenting skills and let Monster spend time with his mom. If he doesn’t, it’s definitely gonna cause friction in his own marriage (that he doesn’t see coming). Omg LaTisha girl go sit down. She need to take a few public speaking courses. She’s starving for attention but doesn’t know how to get it. Very annoying! Btw she need to take that makeup off that’s not matching her skin and bury that dark lipstick. Girl that is not for U! Marsau keep calling all the shots in his marriage cause it’s obvious LaTisha can’t make any decisions. SOMEBODY ANYBODY please handle Wanda. She’s way too much. #TeamTELL&MEL

It almost feels like this show is being filmed in a time warp of the 50s with the very old way of thinking by the men in this show. Single mothers raise male children to manhood everyday, and have been doing so since forever. Any man that was not walking side by side in the raising of the child has no place to talk about calling any shots when the formative years of rearing have been successfully met, what kind of man is that. He sounds selfish and delusional! His son will resent him as he gets older and can sort through facts and fantasy and make his own decisions about his dad’s imprint. Then you have the other brother who just sounds like he wants to keep his wife compliant because he doesn’t want her to find out what he is really doing. Then there’s the other husband who seems like he needs to make a decision on rather or not he wants to repair the damage his affair has done to his marriage, of if he wants a business partner. None of these marriages are model marriages, and all of them seem to be filled with hidden secrets that they don’t want revealed. What a mess!

I stop watching this show this season for all the BS. Melody thinks its all about her, Martell is acting like a chick. His mistress had been pregnant for him as well and then Melody got pregnant. They were on their way to Divorce court before this show and now all of a sudden, they have brands. I like marsau but he doesn’t speak up enuf for his wife, yes she’s naive but just because you make espresso for your husband doesn’t mean you’re an idiot. Jeesh

I really was excited about this show and waited impatiently for its debut. Nice looking intelligent couples who appeared to be classy as well. They seemed to have a true connection and a special bond and were smart and successful. There is no doubt in my mind that they knew the negative impact that reality shows had on other relationships so it’s hard to believe that their problems with each other started when the show first aired. I now believe that they collectively decided they wanted a show at any cost. They definitely had beef with each other way before the show aired. Now they are at risk of ruining their relationships just to get some shine. Be careful what you wish for.
