Candiace wants to pursue legal action.

Karen is going back to her hometown of Surry, VA for her high school’s homecoming. So she invites Ashley and Gizelle to come with her. It’s going to be the first time Ashley will spend a night away from Baby Dean.

Robyn goes by Candiace’s house to talk about the meeting with Monique. And Robyn tells Candiace that Monique “has no remorse.” This makes Candiace break down in tears. She’s shocked that this has happened to her and Monique doesn’t regret anything.

Robyn says she’s really disappointed in Karen because she hasn’t called Monique out publicly. Producers then flashback to a scene of Karen calling Monique out.

Candiace then tells Robyn that Karen said she would have pressed charges if she was in Candiace’s position. At this point, Robyn asks Candiace if she’s going to press charges against Monique. And she says, “it’s on the table” because she has trauma from what happened.

Robyn has been in the headlines, too.

They then discuss the fact that blogs have reported that Robyn owes nearly $90,000 in federal taxes. Robyn says that she’s a “really bad accountant” and she thought she could handle everything on her own.

In a green screen interview, Candiace says Robyn gave Karen the hardest time when Ray was behind in his taxes. So this is interesting to see unfold.

Since there’s now a lien on Robyn and Juan’s house, this could cause more issues for them. And they won’t even be able to buy a new house until things are handled.

Ashley and Gizelle see the farm.

Karen tells Gizelle and Ashley that her family bought the plantation they were slaves on. It’s still in the family and it’s where she was raised. Her family has been there for over 100 years.

They pull up to the land and a sign reads, “Wooden Farms.”

When they get to the farmhouse, Karen introduces her family to Ashley and Gizelle. While out there, Monique calls Ashley , and Ashley puts her on speakerphone. Monique says if it wasn’t her, Candiace would have got into a fight with someone else eventually.

This frustrates Gizelle and she says Candiace should have pressed charges that night. Karen then says she told Candiace that she would have pressed charges. In a green screen interview, Ashley says that it was irresponsible for Karen to say this to Candiace. As for Gizelle, she thinks Monique is a liar.

Wendy fears a career change will upset her mother.

Wendy meets with her sister Ivy. She wants to talk about her career and their mother’s influence over it.

At this point, Wendy doesn’t really want to be a professor anymore. She wants to focus on her career as a political commentator. But she knows their mother wouldn’t support that. For her mother to have two daughters who are doctors (Ivy is a doctor and Wendy has a PhD), it’s given her social status she doesn’t want to lose. So Wendy has to figure out how to have this conversation with their mother.

She knows she wants to start living her life for herself and no longer for her mother.

While Juan and Robyn are having a date night, Juan tells Robyn that he understands what happened with her taxes because he’s been through it.

Karen gets emotional remembering her parents.

It’s parade day for Karen’s homecoming, and Gizelle and Ashley watch Karen act like a queen in the parade while waving to everyone. In a green screen interview, Gizelle says Karen is basically her hometown’s Beyonce.

Candiace and her mother go look at dogs. They discuss Monique and Miss Dorothy says it’s time for Candiace to contact an attorney since Monique doesn’t regret what she did. And Candiace agrees.

Back in Surry, Karen takes the girls to the church she grew up in. The last time she was there, it was for her parents’ funerals. So she gets emotional talking about them.

Monique has regrets.

Chris and Monique have their pastor and the first lady come over. Monique opens up about the altercation and her pastor says he doesn’t think her anger was really just about Candiace. He feels Monique has always struggled to be accepted by the other women. So the pressure from that built up over time because Monique has been in survivor mode since she was little.

Monique then breaks down in tears and says that Candiace didn’t deserve to be attacked. So she wants to apologize. And Chris wants to meet with Chris Bassett so they can all hash things out.
