Issa and Molly’s friendship was tested on the recent season of “Insecure.”
It’s been a crazy ride for HBO’s hit show, “Insecure.” Over the years, there has been a lot of growth in all of the main characters. In fact, on the recent season, Issa had really begun to take charge of her life. She branched out on her own and left her dead-end job behind. And as she focused on planning a huge event, she became honest about her feelings for Lawrence. He did the same but finding out a former flame was pregnant put his reconciliation with Issa in an uncertain place.
As for Molly, she found love with Andrew. But she couldn’t stop sabotaging the relationship.
When both women hit rock bottom in their love lives, they came back together to repair their friendship.
Issa Rae talks about the end of the show.
While many have been anticipating season 5, it’s now been revealed that it will be the final season of the show. Issa Rae recently addressed this during an interview with Deadline. Fans are disappointed but Issa said that she always planned for the show to end after five seasons.
“We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience.”
Deadline reports that the scripts for the final season are complete and the show is expected to go into production later this month.
Very excited to film our fifth and final season! We couldn’t have told a complete story without the tremendous support of our audience and the faith of @HBO. See y’all soon! #InsecureHBO https://t.co/3gsoDwSGDR

There seems to be a trend with shows ending at 5 seasons now. I’m still disappointed though. I hope Insecure ends in a way most of us will be happy with.

There’s also a trend of final seasons having less episodes then the previous….

I hate that they’re ending one of the few shows that has actual black people dating and having careers. We need more scripted shows like this.

I’m going to be mad if Lawrence & Issa don’t end up together.
