Ryan’s ups and downs as a business owner played out on television.

Black Ink Crew Chicago” star Ryan has been very open about running his tattoo shop, 9Mag, since season 1. He probably didn’t think that over time, many of his friendships would fall apart. In fact, his fallout with Van took place after Van returned after serving time. For Van, he didn’t feel as if Ryan was being loyal enough to his “day ones.” So he was critical of Ryan’s decisions. And things got so bad that both men were ready to fistfight. They seemingly were able to make some progress in fixing their friendship. Ryan even made Van the manager of the first shop after he added a new location. However, Ryan decided to pull the plug on the old shop. He also fired everyone with the exception of Don and Phor.

Since then, Van and Ryan’s friendship is non-existent. Van has moved on to Houston where he helped Ceaser open another Black Ink shop. So he makes appearances on “Black In Crew.”

Ryan also had a nasty fallout with Kat. After he and Kat hooked up while he was with Rachel, he told Kat to find work elsewhere. Kat left and started her own successful shop in Beverly Hills called Enigma. So she’s on the current season of “Black Ink Crew Compton.”

Finally, Ryan’s friendship with Charmaine has been tested as well. After Charmaine announced she was departing the show, she told fans that she is also done with Ryan as well. And producers told her that Ryan was talking behind her back.

Ryan said that the real issue between them was Charmaine’s husband Neek wasn’t feeling their friendship. So Charmaine began to distance herself.  Fortunately, Charmaine and Ryan were able to talk things out after their social media blowup.

Interestingly enough, Ryan has fans talking thanks to a recent statement he put out. And now people are wondering what is going on.

  1. Charmaine quit in the middle of the season so it’s possible he did the same. Black Ink as a whole has run its course.
