RHOA Recap: Marlo Goes off on Drew & Accuses Kandi of Receiving Favoritism from Producers

Mama Joyce is back to her old habits.

Sheree catches up with Sanya and Marlo after she invited them over for a little brunch and gossip. They discuss BravoCon as well as the drama that took place at Aaron’s birthday party. Sanya feels like Drew played her during their panel because Drew said she felt like Sanya picked a fight with her during the previous season.

They also discuss Mama Joyce’s session about Todd. She and Kandi did a panel for the OLG show. Andy asked her to say 3 nice things about Todd and she couldn’t. Marlo and Sheree think Kandi needs to put her mother in check.

Martell and Kenya’s blowup is brought up. Sheree still believes that Kenya was the aggressor.

Drew and Courtney have similar perspectives about Sanya.

Kenya was asked to do a surprise halftime performance for the Magic City Classic. She’s very excited and asks Monyetta to help her work on her choreography.

Kandi and Todd have been very busy with their latest Broadway production, “The Piano Lesson.” But that hasn’t managed to keep Todd from finding out what Mama Joyce said during BravoCon. Kandi is tired of this. And she wants her mother to finally learn to respect her marriage because one day Mama Joyce’s grandchildren will see how she treats their father.

Candiace Dillard Bassett calls Drew to ask her to be a guest performer at an upcoming show in Atlanta. Drew accepts and hopes she does a great job. Sheree’s friend Courtney comes over with Bryce Wilson from Groove Theory. Bryce is Courtney’s baby father and Ralph and Courtney found out they are cousins at Aaron’s party.

Both women feel as if Sanya is a flip-flopper. Courtney says Sanya told her to confront Kandi directly but then called her out for doing so afterward. Drew says she thought that she and Sanya were in a better space and then Sanya unfollowed her on Instagram.

Kandi and Courtney clash, again.

The ladies show up to watch Candiace and Drew perform with the exception of Sheree. While they feel as if Drew’s time on stage with Candiace was too brief, Drew is proud that she took such a big step. She’s hoping to join Kandi one day and have a Grammy of her own.

After Candiace and Drew wrap up the show, the women get together. Drew and Sanya hash out their issues. Sanya admits she unfollowed Drew because she was mad about the hair flip Drew did at the reunion. But they are moving forward and will try to hang out to see if they can get back on track.

Kandi then calls out Courtney for accusing her of bringing out the “ghetto” crowd to a popular venue after she promoted the event on Instagram. Courtney says she wasn’t being rude because she’s from the hood herself, in fact, her whole family is from the hood. In response, Kandi tells Courtney that she’s ghetto and should stop projecting. And Kandi’s supporters are very diverse.

Marlo goes off.

Drew then brings up the Blaze incident and Marlo is triggered because Drew wouldn’t come out and use the word “shooting.” She threatens to stop filming the scene because she believes Kandi doesn’t talk about things she doesn’t want to. Kandi questions why Marlo hasn’t discussed the time she was arrested for cutting a woman’s face during a fight.

Courtney interjects to back up Marlo and asks how long ago this happened. And Marlo confirms this was “23 years ago.” In a green screen interview, Marlo says her past is always brought up while Kandi can sweep things under the rug.

The ladies call it a night. Producers then show footage they recorded 30-plus minutes after everyone left the venue except Marlo and Drew. Marlo continues to call out Drew for not saying the Blaze incident was a shooting. Drew explains she didn’t want to use that term because she’s been affected by gun violence personally. This sets off Marlo and she screams that her older nephew Quentin was killed by his own roommate. So there is no excuse for what she feels is a lack of transparency from Kandi.

Drew is extremely confused by Marlo’s yelling but Marlo walks away before Drew can ask any questions.

  1. Marlo is absolutely right, Kandi wants to hide her personal life if possible or should I say filter it, and everyone knows she can’t stop Mama Joyce mouth lol

  2. Marlo is ghetto and can’t speak. She needs to take a speech class. Also, Courtney needs to go back to where she came from.

The show is loosing viewers, I am sure. Marlo has brought the HWOA down to a classless status. You may know how to put on some clothes but you truly don’t have the class for a full-time housewife.

I’m getting to the point where I don’t want to watch it and the OG’s (Sheree, Kenya & Kandi) can’t compete with Marlo’s mouth. Marlo is trying to be NeeNee and take over the show when you were just granted a peach.

Andy Cohen, you have to do better. You may need a total makeover in order for that franchise to survive. Andy is not honest and he doesn’t call any of them out directly. Marlo’s nephew doesn’t have anything to do with the incident at Kandi’s restaurant. He didn’t get killed at Kandi’s restaurant so why does she have to talk about it especially since it’s still a fresh legal incident.

    Go Away Marlo, Please!

  3. Not Marlo with the whole Lifetime Movie of the week scene, trying to call Drew an actress. It was DREW’S event. If she feels some type of way she can leave.

Also the preview of Marlo banging on Kenya’s door, with Brooklyn inside makes my blood boil. Andy is gonna let Marlo “Jennifer Williams” RHOA and it’s so sad and disrespectful to the other housewives.
