Spring time is almost here! And while the color palettes might be brighter, bold is always in.

And is there really a better way to go bold other than dramatic shoulders this season?

Dramatic shoulders are the ultimate look because there are so many ways to style this trend. True fashionistas will rock glamorous shoulders in line with their own unique style. The trick to wearing this look is to not overdo it, a nice balance will compliment this trend.
There are many ways to add a little drama to your shoulders. Ruffles are elegant with the right mix of spice.

Ruffled shoulders are bold, yet very classy. In the photo above, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith looks fabulous in a ruffled Zac Posen top and black pencil skirt. Keep it simple when rocking ruffled shoulders, and keep your accessories to a minimum. Classic pieces such as pearls work well with ruffles.

Want a more edgy look? Spikes and gemstones are perfect for those who have a more edgy style.

In the two photos above, singer Rihanna rocks spiked shoulders in a dress designed by The Blonds.

If you opt to wear the Spiked Shoulder look, make sure that you do not get too edgy with your accessories. It is extremely easy to go overboard when rocking spiked shoulders. Take a page out of Rihanna’s look book and keep the accessories simple. Accented shoulders are great for a night on the town, or in Keri Hilson’s case, Red Carpet appearances. As with the other looks, keep accessories to a minimum. Earrings are quite enough for this style.

And what does every fashionista get when she combines volume and runway?

Why Exaggerated Shoulders of course. To get this dramatic look, fashion designers are making use of shoulders pads, as they did frequently in the 80s. This is one of our favorite looks and it is simply one of the best trends to have fun with. You can wear Exaggerated Shoulders with your favorite jackets, tops, and dresses by simply adding shoulder pads to the design. Play around and find out which look works best for you and your signature style.
