Be quiet and listen when God is speaking
When people try to tell us how we should handle our problems and what we should do in certain situations, it can be overwhelming. Especially if it is something that we rather not hear, we have a tendency to let others’ words go in one ear and out the other. God speaks to us in many different ways. He may speak directly to us, letting us know which direction to take. Or he may speak to us indirectly. His indirect speeches can come from those that know us well or those who don’t know us at all. God’s way of speaking to us could be in the form of a dream. Of course, God does not speak to us in all of our dreams. But with dreams that are very detailed and reflect people or situations that we have been dealing with, God is trying to tell us something.
A wise pastor once said, “We always want things in high definition. Black and white is not good enough for some of us.” Things that God is trying to tell us will not always be crystal clear. He gives us hints as to what we should do. We may beware of these hints that he trying to drop but we tend to pay them no mind and that’s how we find ourselves in bad situations. When God speaks to you, even if He whispers one word, listen to him. He is trying to provide you with guidance. And in some instances, He is trying to save your life. Even if it’s not what you want to hear, God’s words are ones that we should not turn a deaf ear to. His words are filled with wisdom and we should really pay attention.
I don't know if I want to believe that all my dreams that have that are very detailed and reflect people are all by God. I do believe God does speak to me through dreams. There are many ways that God speaks to us. Some by nature, some by dreams, some by people that we are close to that he may use to deliver a word to us from, and dreams. When God Speaks,Yes we all should Listen. Many find it hard to do so because they are surrounded with so many voices, that they have know idea whether it's God or not. God does say that " His sheep will know his voice". Might we keep that in mind.Mel
