Estranged husband found guilty of murdering Jennifer Hudson’s family members.

It’s been nearly four years since the tragic deaths of Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew. And today, justice was indeed served as a verdict was reached in the case by a Chicago jury.
Hudson’s former brother-in-law, 31-year-old William Balfour, was found guilty for murdering all three parties and was sentenced to mandatory life in prison.
With a track record of gang association and making violent threats coming into the trial, Balfour’s sentence was probably not very shocking to some yet long-awaited by mourning family members. Now that the search for clarity has ended, it was said that Jennifer Hudson and her sister Julia Hudson were extremely emotional during the reading of the verdict. Balfour, on the other hand, was said to have displayed little emotion at all after hearing his sentence.
According to The Miami Herald, lack of living witnesses combined with a number of ones who feared Balfour due to his threatening tactics was the reason behind the trial delay.
However, those representing Balfour are still attempting to claim his innocence:
“It has always been our position and it still is that William Balfour is innocent of these murders,” –Public Defender Amy Thompson
Is there an appeal coming? It sounds like the case is still not over.
Im shocked. I thought he was going to get off.
I thought so too. Especially since they were making J Hud’s brother out to be a big time drug dealer.
If he did do it, all of this could have been prevented had her sister cut ties off sooner. We have to make better choices in the men we date. Nothing good comes for dating a thug.
