Chris Brown continues to find himself in the middle of controversy, and if you’ve been keeping up, you should know that his exit from social media hasn’t managed to make him less of a target for the headlines. The singer reportedly got into an altercation with his own longtime bodyguard and close friend Big Pat last week in Bermuda, and things didn’t get any better when he got into a heated exchange with a parking lot attendant the day after over a $10 charge he wasn’t happy about. Not too long after that, Chris then became the target of even more criticism after he gave some rather interesting relationship advice to a club crowd that consists of telling men that they need to tell their women that they own their “lady parts.” Chris now says that the comments were nothing but song lyrics and laughed the whole incident off with TMZ paps, but his recent troubles in Ghana clearly aren’t a laughing matter.

As we recently reported, Chris caused some outrage during his time in Ghana as it’s being reported that the singer smoked a blunt on stage in the middle of one of his performances. It’s illegal to smoke “herb” in Ghana, and plenty of concert goers and officials of Ghana were furious that Chris didn’t seem to care about the laws and even told the crowd that if anyone has a problem with them smoking weed, to tell them “F*ck you.”

Although it appeared that the police of Ghana weren’t going to punish Chris for his on stage behavior, it is now being reported that the police have changed their minds as a result of the backlash, and now it’s been confirmed that they have launched an investigation of Breezy.

Here’s a snippet of the statement released by the Ghana Police on the investigation:

The American RnB star is alleged to have smoked Indian hemp while performing on stage at the Accra Sports Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday 6th March 2013.

Section 5 of narcotic drugs [Control Enforcement and Sanctions] Act, 1990 PNDCL 236, stipulates that “a person shall not, without lawful authority or excuse, smoke, sniff, consume, inject into the body or otherwise administer a narcotic drug on the body of that person.”

We wish to state that all persons, whether visiting or native who does an act in contravention of the above-quoted Act shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.

In the case of Chris Brown, a docket has been opened, and we would want to assure the good people of Ghana that the police will do everything possible to get to the bottom of it.

Meanwhile, we are calling on the public to exercise patience, in the interest of due process and in respect of the rule of law, and provide the police with relevant information in support of the due process.

  1. I think this is just PR. People got outraged that they didn’t do anything about it and so now that he’s already left, they want to “investigate” him. Chris will get off like he always does. LOL.

  2. They aren’t going to do anything…I’m sure this is just a stunt to calm down the backlash. I doubt Chris even cares TBH.

  3. I guess Chris has no plans of ever getting his life back on track. It’s sad to see a young person just succumbing to the negativity and becoming exactly what people said he was.

  4. This young dude needs to calm down. He’s going to keep right on and really end up in somebody’s jail next time.

    1. Or worse…dead. When a celeb is surrounded by nobody but enablers, it usually ends in a tragedy. At some point, someone he knows and trusts needs to tell him about himself. Not strangers…
