As we recently reported, singer Tyrese and Rev. Run have collaborated and penned a book entitled Manology for women that offers advice on dating and dealing with men. Although both claim they have good intentions for penning the book and actually want to help women, people have been very skeptical of the advice offered in the book. Tyrese also hasn’t helped things since some of the advice he’s been offered in his recent interviews has been perceived as controversial and sexist at times. Regardless, the new book has gone on to become a New York Times bestseller, and it has gotten solid reviews from readers as well.

In a recent interview with The Doctor Oz Show, both took some time to give some advice on whether or not women should be concerned about their man spending too much time with his friends, getting romance, and even keeping things sexy in the bedroom.

On whether or not a woman should be worried about her man hanging around his friends, Tyrese says:

“If a man is in a relationship, or if he’s married, I would be more concerned with that man hanging around a whole bunch of single dudes because single dudes have single dude intentions. If you’re a married man, as well as a married woman, I believe you should start hanging out with people that are where you are in life. I think you are the company you keep.”

When it comes to romance, Rev. Run says there’s a simple way to keep it in your relationship and that’s by initiation:

“A man is very sex driven. It can be a lot of romance put into the relationship if a woman initiates more often. Women don’t initiate, for me, nearly enough, sex or anything to do with love time because they feel like if they initiate the cuddle then it will go straight to sex, which is true. At the end of the day, if a woman wants to get more romantic with guys it’s very simple. Just start putting on the right lingerie, making the right moves, and you’ll have the guy in the palm of your hands coming home with flowers and being happier and nicer.”

Tyrese adds that a woman’s bedroom life is a reflection of her level of effort:

“I believe there’s an art to keeping sex sexy. I think women happen to be very creative. If they’re lacking in the sexual department, it’s probably a reflection of their non effort. Most women sexual effort will be met by a man saying, ‘Alright, I’m ready. Let’s do this.'”

  1. I agree with the whole single friends thing. I learned that first hand. A man’s single friends will get him in trouble most of the time. Sad.

    1. Girl you said a mouthful. That’s why I’m always cautious with men who have to hang out with friends all the time. That’s never a good sign.

  2. I get annoyed with these random black men writing these “relationship” books for women. I feel like they are using us…

  3. I can’t take Tyrese seriously. Yeah he says some good stuff, but his own track record with women is terrible. Then there are his stupid tweets. I’m good.

  4. I wish both of them would have a seat…when do these relationship books for black women written by black women end? Better yet, will they read a relationship book written by a black woman? I doubt it.

  5. If you look past who is saying it, it’s actually very good advice. Yes, they do want to make money. But the advice is still good. Don’t be so quick to write it off.

  6. Another book, another waste of time. Nobody needs to read a book written by a human being to figure out how to make a relationship work. The Bible has the BEST relationship advice. People need to stop it.

  7. Who the hell is tyrese to give women relationship advice. Everybody want to be a damn relationship expert.

  8. LOL at these black men and these damn books. And it’s a best seller too because women are so gullible. Smh.

  9. Can’t stand Tyrese’s illiterate a-s! He can’t even spell necklace right!!!!!!”‘Neckless!” Fool! LOL!!!

      1. On Twitter! He was trying to be deep, as usual and failed. He said:

“You wanna keep your woman, you gotta treat her like a pearl on the neckless of life.”

Of course he deleted it when people starting clowning him. Clown. LOL.
