Jennifer Hudson may be beautiful, talented, and extremely successful; but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to be with her romantically. And it’s not hard to be in a relationship with her because she’s some kind of irritating diva. In David Otunga’s case, it’s not easy to be with Jennifer Hudson because no matter what he does professionally, he just can’t get out of her shadow and create a name for himself. In a recent interview with The Chicago Tribune, the WWE wrestler admitted that he’s sick and tired of people asking him about his woman and he really wants people to acknowledge that he has a career too.
Now that he’s a professional wrestler, he says it’s great to get some recognition on his own, however, he doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to get people to stop asking him about Jennifer Hudson.
David says:
“People want to know more about me. They want to know who I am. It’s cool to finally have that attention. … That’s something I tried to do from the beginning — to be my own person. I wanted to do different things and try to establish myself. It’s great to get recognized for that.
“It’s one of those things they kept bringing up no matter how many times I said, ‘Please don’t mention (Hudson). They kept doing it and it irritated me to the point that I changed my character. That’s why I started a new character with a bow tie and coffee mug. I want to stand alone. I’m pretty successful in my own right. (Hudson) still comes up, but what can I do?”
He will never get out of Jen’s shadow…I hope they don’t let that come between their relationship.
He sure won’t! He’s going to have to learn how to be okay with that. If not, they won’t last!
They are still together? I didn’t know that. They’ve been engaged for like 5 years. Hmm…
He’ll always be Punk to me.
Me too! He lucky Jen wanted him after he was kissing on New York’s skanky self!
I don’t think these two will ever make it down the aisle.
Me either!
Nope.
David has an ego…he might want to get that under control. Jenn’s going to always be the bigger star between them.
He seems like such an opportunist to me.
Jealousy…
I just don’t see these two lasting.
He’s a wrestler now? Didn’t know that
I stil think he’s gay…
Mr. Otunga looks great. I think better than when he was on I Love New York. I don’t think that he is jealous or anything and he is definitly coming into his own and making a name for himself, especially with now being a wrestler and being in the movie The Call. I understand how it can get irritating when someone is always asking you about someone else when you have things going on for yourself. Kinda like how when Kelly Rowland does and interview but all the person interviewing her can talk about is Beyonce, but she has her own things going on not just being someone elses shadow. So I definitly understand where he is coming from. Jenifer may be more famous and recognizable then he is right now, but that could easily change. It is not bad to want your own identity not just be known as Jenifer’s fiance. Especially when you have your own things going on.I hate that. I was watching Wendy Williams the other day and she was interviewing someone, but instead of her asking the guest about what she had going on she kept asking them about someone else. Then at the end when the interview was over she mentions that this person has a new show, but not once did she really ask this person about what she had going on.
