In today’s society, everything is talked about. And thanks to the evolution of technology which includes the increasing popularity of social media and blogging; celebrities are criticized for just about everything. Unfortunately for women who happen to be celebrities, the scrutiny is pretty superficial, as many are forced to defend their own bodies against over critical bloggers who just refuse to let them be human and have flaws. Amber Rose just gave birth to her first child a few weeks ago with her fiancé Wiz Khalifa, and when she was spotted post childbirth by the paps, the media ripped her to shreds for not being “fit” yet. Amber decided against a Twitter rant and instead decided to get dolled up and show everyone that she still has it (we never thought she lost it) on her Instagram account, but it appears Amber isn’t the only one clapping back at the criticism.
Recently, singer Fantasia Barrino and actress Keshia Knight-Pulliam were also victims of the media after they published reports and pictures of their bodies and poked fun. Keshia made a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show and admitted that although it did make her a little insecure, she managed to bounce back quickly and refuses to let the critics get her down. She also claimed that she thinks recent images of her in a swimsuit were Photoshopped (a sentiment Lil Kim knows too well). Keshia says:
“I saw them, and as a woman, no matter what, even if you don’t look like that, I was mortified. I had that moment where you like fall out in your closet. “I feel like they may have done something a little…it was a little bit extra [Photoshopped]. I had that moment. You know how women, we do. I straight…naked, out the shower, looked in the mirror, posed. I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t look like that. I’m good.”
Check out the clip of Keshia speaking on her body and criticism with Wendy below:
Fantasia Barrino has been using her Instagram account lately to clap back at her critics, so when Media Take Out decided to drag her about her body, Fantasia took to her Instagram account and slammed the website. She posted the photo and the following caption:
There you have it.
Smh. I don’t see what’s wrong with their bodies…
Fantasia is a damn trip. LOL.
I don’t see what all the fuss is about…
Me either! People are just doing what they do best…HATE!
Fred, one day you will get yours.
I think they have nice bodies. People just like to be nasty.
I cannot stand Media Take Out. They lie and their grammar is horrific.
HAHAHA!
They did look rather unflattering in their pictures. They need to realize they celebs will alway be on stage. They need to always look hawt if they don’t want blogs or me makin fun of them.
LOL @ this post.
I think they look fine. Sadly, people will still find anything to talk about.
