Rapper Rick Ross finds himself in the middle of yet another controversy, just a couple of months after he was a victim of a failed drive by shooting. While it was speculated that the drive by shooting was a result of threats the rapper received at the hands of members of notorious street gang Gangster Disciples (the gang is furious he rapped about its founder in his lyrics), the scary situation didn’t manage to cause Rick Ross to rethink his fake “gangsta” image. Instead, the rapper got on a remix and rapped a verse bragging on how he was ready for the shooting and had his gun ready (even though reports suggest he fled the scene and crashed into a nearby building to escape the gun fire). Rick Ross is catching heat again for his recent lyrics that sound like an ode to date rape. In a remix to Rocko’s song “U.O.E.N.O (You ain’t even know it),” Rick Ross raps:

“Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it”

While Rick Ross continues to be silent on the lyrics, the outrage over what was said continues to grow. Now there’s a petition making rounds online encouraging people to stop supporting the rapper and demanding that the rapper apologizes. The petition has already garnered hundreds of signatures.

The petition was created by Lolia Etomi and reads:

Publicly apologize for glorifying ‘date rape’. It is scary and offensive that you can normalize this in a song and you’re a much better artist than that. We respect your freedom of expression, but at the same time we are exercising our freedom of speech in expressing our disappointment at your choice of lyrics.

You are influential. People will listen to your songs and try to live how you live. Yes, even adults are impressionable. Please denounce this blatant promotion of drugging and rape. It has happened too often and to too many people, even people we know to be seen as acceptable.

  1. That shirt he’s wearing in the picture pretty much sums up his mentality. Money is the only thing he cares about. He has no morals and doesn’t care about the backlash until it starts to hurt his pockets.

  2. I doubt he will do the right thing. As someone already pointed out on here, Rick Ross is all about the money. Nothing else matters to him. That’s why he lied about who he is and tried to hide his past as a corrections officer. lol

  3. He’s such an idiot for this. What was he thinking when he wrote these lyrics. I guess he just wanted to cause controversy. Either way, it’s so offensive that he would say something like this in a song. Makes you wonder if he does it in real life.

  4. it was probably a women who tried to shoot him up few weks ago slipping her a MOLLY…50 wouldn’t even stoop this low in some lyrics.
