Chris Brown has a completely different image than the one he started out with as a young heart-throb who belted out R&B songs about puppy love and had a stage presence that made many feel he had the possibility of becoming one of the biggest entertainers of his generation. Unfortunately, all of that changed after he assaulted his girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 the night of the Grammys. However, Chris and Rihanna have rekindled their romance since then but of course the relationship is so controversial and polarizing that it hasn’t been well received by most in the public. Chris says that the criticism of their romance doesn’t really faze him anymore because they are still in a happy place in their relationship. The singer even recently said that the assault happened at a time when he was arrogant and hotheaded. He tells Ryan Seacrest:

“I could put that on my age, but that would just be making an excuse. I think for me that at age 18, 19, I was capable of writing and producing songs, so I’m also capable of making the right choices. So I think it’s about a learning process now. Being at that young age, I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded. Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands.”

Although Chris says he has changed for the better, apparently that’s not enough to keep people from booing him at NBA games. On Easter Sunday, the R&B singer was booed at the Knicks game he attended. The star was sitting next to successful movie director Spike Lee, and once he was caught on the Jumbotron, the crowd began to boo viciously. Chris took it all in stride though.

The NY Daily News reports:

Sitting courtside with Spike Lee as the Knicks took on the Boston Celtics, Brown, 23, got an earful of boos when his and the movie-maker’s mugs appeared on the Jumbotron.

Brown, apparently still not forgiven by New Yorkers for battering on-off girlfriend Rihanna in an infamous 2009 Los Angeles incident, just smiled and took Bronx cheers in the midtown arena.

  1. Why the F_ck are people booing him at a damn Knicks game. Maybe at a women’s rally but a Knicks game. I’m confused?

  2. How embarrassing. I’m sure Chris wishes he could go back to 2009 and redo the whole situation. People just refuse to move on from it.

  3. Shawty can’t even go to a Knicks game without being reminded that most of society hates him. That sucks.

  4. People hate Chris so much for hitting Rihanna’s crazy a-s but she’s the media’s sweetheart because she’s trashy. I don’t get it.

  5. Chris will never be able to get away from that Rihanna situation. So he just has to learn how to deal with the hate.

    1. He thinks just cuz she took him back and because he finally admitted that he is a arrogant and hotheaded, that is enough….for it not it will take more than that ,cuz we didn’t see that much of change until this moment……

  6. SMDH..that is sooo damn ridiculous!! I mean, HOW LONG do you continue to crucify & hold a persons past against them??!! I dont know of ANY other entertainer that’s been treated like this because of their fuc**ing up in the dark past. They allow them to move on & they find other things to talk about! What does this young man need to do for them to FINALLY move on..shed large amounts of blood till near death??!! They act as though he’s Adolf Hitler or the Antichrist!! I really hope that Chris does’nt let these idiots get next to him & bring him down & he continues to excel in his career. Keep ur head up Breezy cuz only God has the authority to judge you!! #TRUTH
