Jay-Z is a true business man, and the rapper has managed to create an empire and wealth by expanding into different industries with his latest business ideas. Roc Nation is the company Jay-Z formed to manage music artists, but as we reported recently, the rapper has decided to expand the company into sports and launched Roc Nation Sports. The rapper signed his first client the other day when he managed to get Major League Baseball star Robinson Cano to sign on the dotted line. Although it’s a great moment for Jay-Z, the deal isn’t without its skeptics. And it seems the whole business deal and recent signing has made a lot of people in baseball salty. In fact, an agent who wished to remain anonymous says Cano made a major mistake by firing his agent for Jay-Z and he even says the rapper “doesn’t know sh*t about baseball.” The source tells the NY Daily News:

“Jay-Z doesn’t know sh*t about baseball. You don’t hire a real estate agent to do neurosurgery.

“Can you imagine the hardline negotiations that will take place when Jay-Z walks into (Yankee president) Randy Levine’s office with that Yankee hat he’s always wearing and says his client wants to play with the Dodgers?

“Celebrity in baseball comes from performance, but Robinson is looking at Jay-Z and Beyonce to make him a celebrity. He is being naïve. The story now is about Jay-Z, not Robinson.”

Jay-Z isn’t the first rapper to get involved into sports and get criticized for it. Recently, rapper 50 Cent got slammed for his boxer management ambitions.

      1. Nowhere does it say it was a white man. Plenty of black people are in the MLB. It could easily be a black man who actually works in the sports industry, and doesn’t think Jay Z has the experience.

  1. This anonymous person sounds like a straight hater. Everybody have to start somewhere. How about you hold off cristism I mean damn the ink ain’t dry on his contract SMH

  2. Ppl are crazy. Just because he is signed to his management, doesn’t mean that Jay is managing him directly. He probably has someone else that does have baseball knowledge working with him. He isn’t stupid. I think we know the real reason why this Anonymous person is angry…
