Tyrese has done singing, acting and is now pinning himself a relationship expert as he has teamed up with Hip-Hop legend Rev Run for their book Manology: Secrets of Your Man’s Mind Revealed. And though some people are giving their new venture together the side eye, the same side eye that Steve Harvey got when he first came out with his books, Tyrese and Rev both have continued to dish out relationship advice to women. While their advice has gotten a hand clap from some, there are those who don’t agree with the things that they have been saying. As for Tyrese, he has always been one to be very open when it comes to his rough upbringing that he revisits in his new documentary and blunt about subjects that others tiptoe around as they don’t want to offend anyone. Yet some of the recent comments that Tyrese made during an interview that he did with AllHipHop may have done just that.
Without their approval, many entertainers have been slapped with the “role model” title and often get bashed if they don’t live up to that title. And when Tyrese was asked about whether or not he felt any kind of responsibility as an entertainer to be a inspiration to people in terms of living healthier lives, Tyrese says:
“No two situations are the same. If you are fat and nasty and you don’t like the way you look, do something about it. It’s simple. When you take a shower and you put your fat, nasty body in the shower and by the time you get out, the mirrors are all steamed up so you don’t look at what you did to yourself. That may sound offensive or insensitive but ultimately, you are big as h*ll because you have earned that sh*t. You worked your a** off to eat everything in sight to get big as h*ll.”
“If you got a problem with the way you look, then you need to do something about it. Excuses sound best to the people that’s making them up.”
People don’t mind coming for Tyrese over his grammatical errors on Twitter so we’re sure they will probably have something to say about this one.
He said it in a very insensitive way but what he said was true. If you’re not happy with your weight, do something about it.

I actually agree with him on this but I don’t like the way he said it. He didn’t have to call people nasty and fat to get his point across.

Weight is such a sensitive subject. It’s not easy to lose weight. I wish people would stop talking down to overweight people. Until you walk a day in their shoes, STFU. Respect people and their struggles, even if you don’t have to endure them yourself.

Everyone is not meant to be the same size..people come in ALL different types of sizes & shapes. Being healthy is what’s most important & size does’nt necessarily have anything to do with that. There’s plenty of unhealthy skinny people who are in bad shape! Does he really think that by insulting people he’s gonna “positively motivate” them? We need that kinda “motivation” like we need a “hole in the head!” Conquering weight loss is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do..the more you have to lose, the more difficult! You lose & then you gain it ALL back & then some..look at Oprah’s struggles over the years! I’m determined that i WILL kick this weight loss thing and when i do it will be for ME & my health & self confidence..NOT for some no count azzholes out here who get their sick kicks out of putting other people down! My weight has NEVER stopped me from getting the attentions & compliments from both men & women. I’ve been told many times that i’m “very attractive/beautiful” by complete strangers! I myself have seen many other beautiful full figured women! If Tyrese wants people to have respect & empathy for his struggles in this life, he needs to likewise respect other peoples unique struggles! He seriously needs to think about what he says before he opens up that BIG ashy rathole of his!!
Thank you. I’m a full figured woman as well and while he thought he was giving people a “reality check”, he was really just being disrespectful. Everyone has vices that manifests its self visually. Mine happen to be my weight. I see that he has kids and no longer married. Perhaps he should look into that same steamed mirror

I have nothing against heavy women. However, I have noticed that some heavy women cannot seem to handle that some women just have better heredity than them in this regard. In other words, some women can eat like hogs and stay tiny women instead of getting heavy piggie. I notice that it is typically (though not always) heavy women claiming that no tiny women can eat a lot and stay their tiny size. However, fact is that some women can eat a lot and stay tiny women instead of becoming heavy piggie. Some people just have better heredity than others in this regard.
