Overzealous Usher Fan Gets Kicked out of Live Taping of ‘The Voice’

R&B singer Usher might be a newbie to hit singing competition show The Voice, but many are speculating that he is one of the reasons the show is beating American Idol out in ratings and getting rave reviews this season from critics everywhere. Usher was originally supposed to fill in for Ceelo Green, but it’s possible that he may now have a permanent spot on the show. And when it comes to Usher, it’s pretty clear that he has a very dedicated fan base, and these loyal fans are willing to support him in just about anything he does. Interestingly enough, one fan might have been a little too supportive the other day a live taping of the show considering she got kicked out for causing a disturbance. The New York Post reports the woman came in and would whistle constantly and yell the singer’s name. Even after she was asked to quiet down, she refused and continued to scream the singer’s name during taping. Here’s a snippet of the report:

The unidentified woman also repeatedly “blew a whistle” during taping to distract Usher, who is a judge on the hit singing-competition show along with Shakira, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

According to sources close to the show, the 20-something audience member blew her whistle for about a minute during filming at NBC studios in Burbank, Calif.

…“The woman was blowing her whistle and yelling Usher’s name,” an insider said. Another witness said the woman was “pointing at Usher and exclaiming, ‘I want you!’ ” over and over again.

That’s when the show’s security approached the crazed fan and asked her to stop — but “she refused,” our source related.

At that point, the woman was asked to leave the building. “The security people escorted her out to the street,” our source said.

The source also tells the publication that Usher and the other judges played it real cool during the incident and didn’t seem rattled at all by her outbursts.
