Terrence Howard Comes out on Top in Divorce Settlement

Actor Terrence Howard has a reputation of putting his foot in his mouth amongst his Hollywood peers, but he has no qualms taking about his rocky relationship with his ex-wife that resulted in him getting punched in the face not too long ago. Although the marriage ended up being a dysfunctional mess, he still took a moment to defend his choice to marry outside his race in a recent interview with Hip Hollywood. He said:

“We have a crab mentality where we still pull each other down because of choices that we make, because I choose to marry an Asian woman instead of a Black woman.

“I think as Black people we have to start helping each other. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say nothing at all.”

The terms of the divorce settlement are now complete and it appears the actor has won big. Howard’s ex-wife definitely won’t be taking a big chunk out of the money he’s getting from his latest films. TMZ reports:

According to the divorce order obtained by TMZ, Terrence gets the lion’s share of marital property — including both houses in Pennsylvania and all 25 of his bank accounts.

And the embarrassing part … Terrence’s ex Michelle Ghent has been ordered to return the actor’s 2011 Range Rover. (She gets to keep her bike … and a BMW).

Terrence was ordered to pay Michelle $5,800 a month in spousal support for the next three years — not a huge sum for someone of Terrence’s means. Bottom line: He scored big.
