Draya Confirms VH1 Has Started Filming New Season of ‘Basketball Wives LA’

Did Basketball Wives LA get cancelled? The “Basketball Wives LA” cancellation rumors started up months ago and haven’t died down yet. While Shaunie O’Neal and crew are preparing viewers for another round of “Basketball Wives,” Shaunie previously revealed via Twitter that “Basketball Wives LA” would be getting revamped. And many thought it was due to the show’s low ratings as the viewership wasn’t at all comparable to the numbers “Basketball Wives” has managed to pull in over the years. And with the comments Shaunie O’Neal made in reference to the supposed changes the spinoff was set to undergo, the speculation about who was going to get fired quickly followed. Gloria Govan and her sister Laura Govan were rumored to be two cast members who wouldn’t be returning for another season. Gloria Govan confirmed in an interview that her time with the BBW franchise may be over soon and hinted at the possibility of the show facing cancellation. And at the moment, “Basketball Wives LA” is still rumored to be in jeopardy of getting the boot from VH1.

BBWLA star Draya Michele, who tends to be very vocal about gossip surrounding the show and her personal life off camera , addressed the talk of the spinoff getting the axe from the network in the past. And she recently took to her Instagram account to shut down the rumors again. Draya posted a picture of herself and cast mates Jackie Christie and Malaysia Pargo hanging out together and confirmed that the cast members have already started filming for new season:

Draya, Jackie and Malaysia confirmed their return for next season, but the fate of the other cast members still remains in question.
