Now we’re all for folks working hard to save the struggling genre of R&B music, but we totally understand just why people are questioning if TGT has what it takes to make some moves on the charts. After Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank made a recent appearance and performance that left many wondering if Ginuwine is on that “stuff,” some people are thinking it’s only a matter of time before the newly formed group dissolves.
During the rather controversial performance, Ginuwine appeared to struggle to sing and harmonize with his group members, and his continuous blinking, twitching and strange facial expressions made many flood the comment section of YouTube and accuse the singer of being high on something.
Tyrese also didn’t help matters when he glanced at Ginuwine in a rather angry way quite a few times and Tank did manage to laugh a little in the background as he played the piano. Regardless of what everyone thinks they saw, Ginuwine took to his Twitter account to downplay the accusations and make jokes out of the belief he was high during the performance. He seems to think he just needs some eye drops. He tweets:

Ohhhh wweeee lololol
I need to take two more since I’m poppn now lololololololol what insanity
I’m going to always perform in the morning so I can blink blink blink blink blink

Despite Ginuwine’s attempts to make jokes about the situation, he did admit years ago that he struggled with substance abuse for years after the death of his parents. He tells Essence in 2009:
“I didn’t want to live and tried to commit suicide more than once. There was no one around that I really loved at the time, so I turned to the drinking and drugs like weed and ecstasy. I was done mentally and emotionally to the point that I had to go see a psychiatrist… in fact, the two times I visited him I was high.”
We surely hope Ginuwine is not relying on substances to deal with stress again.

Oh please, he was high as a kite. He couldn’t even sit up in the chair for 5 seconds without twitching. I’m praying for him because something had to happen to get him back on that stuff. I hope he gets off it and stays off it for good.
Isn’t he still married to Sole? I read she was a born again Christian. I wonder what she has to say about all of this. He clearly had a relapse.

He definitely looked like he was high on something. And he’s pushing it with his group members. I won’t be surprised when they confirm TGT has parted ways. No one wants to deal with that when you have all those scheduled performances to show up to.
