Kanye West doesn’t seem to have any intention of making peace with the paparazzi just yet, and although it appeared he was very close to catching a felony charge after assaulting his latest victim, TMZ recently reported insiders told them charges would most likely not be filed against the rapper. The website also suggested Kanye would most likely throw some cash in the pap’s direction to make the whole situation go away like most celebs do when they get themselves into some trouble, but now the actual Los Angeles Police Department is speaking out and they tell US Weekly Kanye is not off the hook yet and still may be charged. US Weekly reports:

Contrary to reports, Kanye West is not yet off the hook for the scuffle he was involved in with a photographer last week. On Thursday, July 25, TMZ reported that the rapper would not be charged with any crime in connection with the July 19 incident; however, the LAPD tells Us Weekly that no decisions have been made on that front.

“The investigation is still ongoing and no determination has been made as to whether charges will be filed or not,” the LAPD Robbery and Homicide division tells Us in a statement.

Although charges are still a possibility and the paparazzi did express a desire to go forward with pressing charges, it’s still very likely Kanye could just settle with the pap quietly. As we reported recently, it wouldn’t be the first time this particular paparazzi opts for money after a major star attacked. He settled quite handsomely after Britney Spears infamously snapped on him a few years ago.

  1. Not buying any of this. I do think TMZ had it right. If anything the LAPD is just trying to save fave before news of that settlement comes out and they can say it wasn’t on their end.
