Rick Ross concert causes pastor to lose his job? While Rick Ross remains optimistic about getting his deal back with Reebok, there are many people out there who are not ready to move past the “date rape” lyric he rapped on Rapper Rocko’s song “U.O.E.N.O.” The lyric caused some major controversy for the rapper and Reebok to catch a lot of heat over the endorsement deal they had with Rozay. After angering a women’s rights group and getting his music snatched from a radio station, Rick Ross extended an official apology for rapping the lyric. It was too little too late though as Reebok decided it’d be best to cut ties with him. A lost endorsement deal hasn’t put a complete damper on Rick Ross’ career though as his fans are still digging in their pockets to attend his concerts. But there are some folks who just can’t pull themselves to support Rick Ross or anyone who attends his concerts that claims to be a servant of the Lord as a North Carolina pastor got fired for recently attending a Rick Ross concert. Guardian Express reports:

Pastor Rodney Wills was just nearing four years at Mt. Salem Baptist Church in North Carolina. He is the youngest pastor to be installed at 26 years old and is now the shortest term pastor in Mt. Salem’s 109 year history. On Saturday, Mt. Salem voted him out for attending a local Rick Ross concert. With a vote of 11 to 3, the 14 deacons met at 11 o’clock Saturday night to discuss and come to a conclusion that they did not need his services anymore.

Rev. Wills arrived to the church the next day for Sunday morning worship service and notice his parking sign taken down and his name removed from the office door. The deacons even asked another minister from the community to officiate the service that morning.

One of the deacons of the church, Deacon Miles Langley, says this is not Reverend Wills’ first time attending a rap concert as younger members of the church claimed they spotted Wills at a Lil Wayne concert several months ago. And while he knows there will be some people who will say their actions were harsh, Deacon Langley says the church simply can’t have a pastor who praises the world and the Lord at the same time.

What do you think about this NC pastor getting fired over attending a Rick Ross concert?

    1. What? The fact he partying at rap concerts or he got fired because of it? Bec I would fire his a-s too. You won’t see the Pope doin the harlem shake at a club and still keep his day job.

  1. So Lil Wayne and Rick Ross get dropped from their endorsements and now their fans are getting dropped from church.

  2. The only perfect person to walk this earth was Jesus. Too much hate and judging going on in the church.

    1. Oh you don’t understand. Certain things you can’t just “mess up” and lead God’s people. Moses didn’t go to the club. In his position he is a leader for the body of christ. People look up to him and count on his relationship with God to help them. If you a pastor, rev, w.e you n God suppose to be close enough that you don’t even desire that stuff. But if u at a club God ain’t with you, and if God not with you, your wasting the people’s time, ppl who need a Real Christian leader supernatraly intune with God. Your juding christians for their choice of action, when what you need to do is read your bible. They did the right thing. When would you draw the line? When he’s at the strip club pimping women or doing koke off of men’s boners??

    1. Errrrks! Um no. Your mistaken Christianity with the devils religion Pope-ology wear they don’t follow the bible where it says when a man finds a wife he finds a good thing become one with ur wife (sex) Instead they surround themselves with men n boys and become one with them calling upon God w/ blasphemy

  3. He has to hold himself to a higher standard he can not lead his God’s people if he is just as weak. I think he was too young to pastor a church so they made the right choice

  4. You can’t straddle the fence. It was inappropriate for him to be in attendance of that concert being a man of God
